Mildred Virginia Folmar

Funeral services for Mildred Redmon Folmar, 78, of Troy, who died at Extendicare Hospice in Dothan, Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. George Merritt, the Rev. Jessie Neal Russell and the Rev. Paul Cowley officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Folmar; parents, Clarence and Ida Redmon; sisters, Lucille Law and Lillie Mae Redmon; brother, Jeff Redmon; and nephews, William F. Enzor and Kenneth Law.

She is survived by a sister, Sybil Enzor of Jacksonville, Fla., two nieces, Lois L. Ray of Ft. Walton and Joyce Law of Troy; nephews, William (Joyce) Law of Andalusia, Jimmy (Dale) Law of Troy, John (Sue) Law of DeFuniak Springs, and Barry (Debbie) Enzor of Jacksonville; special friends, Billy and Votie Newton of Dothan, Tina Johnson, Irene Kelly and Tracy Beall of Dothan.

Pallbearers will be her nephews and great-nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Noble Manor and Extendicare Hospice of Dothan.

Memorials may be made to Antioch Cemetery Fund or to Wiregrass Hospice.

Kennon W. Washburn

Funeral services for Kennon W. Washburn, 75, of Ozark, who died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, following a brief illness, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with the Rev. Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating.

Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Washburn was born July 11, 1931, in Dekalb County and grew up on Sand Mountain. He graduated from Sardis High School in 1949 and Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy in 1952. He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington and the Tenth General Dispensary in Frankfurt, Germany.

Mr. Washburn married his late wife, Shirley Synco Washburn, in 1956, and they moved to Ozark in 1961, where he owned and operated Center Drug Company. He was a member of Ozark Baptist Church. Mr. Washburn was a founding member of Ozark Rotary Club on Oct. 20, 1958, serving as director emeritus and president. He served as past district governor of Rotary International, received numerous Paul Harris Fellow Awards and was named Ozark Man of the Year.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Washburn was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Synco Washburn, on Dec. 18, 2000.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Leanne and William Johnson of Troy Michelle and John Reed of Auburn; and one grandson, Alex Johnson of Troy.

Flowers will be accepted, but memorials are preferred in his memory to The Rotary Foundation, c/o Ozark Rotary Club, P.O. Box 1401, Ozark, AL 36361.

Dorothy Louise Phillips

Graveside services for Dorothy Louise Phillips, 92, of Franklin, N.C., who died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Hubert Dickerson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

A native of Goshen, she was the daughter of the late John Nathan Phillips and Mary Braswell Phillips. She was an associational missionary and member of the Orange Street Baptist Church in Troy.

A brother, Lamar Phillips, and a sister, Mary Kathryn Deese, who died in October 2005, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sister, Marguerite Klages of Franklin, N.C.; a brother, Joe B. Phillips of Cordova, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
