Paul Black

Graveside services for Paul Black, 77, of Opelika, who died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. John Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Horn officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Brundidge.

Mr. Black was born July 22, 1929. He retired after owning his own grocery store.

His parents, Henry Black and Blondell Brooks Black, and a brother, Ray Black, preceded him in death.

Survivors include two brothers, Jackie Black and Eddie Black, and a sister, Cheryl Mobley, all of the Tarentum Community.

Pallbearers will be Danny Black, Phillip Black, Tim Sanders, Ben Bowden, Shane Calhoun and Jim Fleming.

Memorials should be made to St. John Church or St. John Cemetery.

Ida K. Lucas

Services for Ida K. Lucas, 90, of Okeechobee, Fla., who died in Florida Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge, with the Rev. Mach King officiating.

Burial will follow at St. John Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her son, Aldon Stewart, and her husbands, Hubert Stewart, Fred Dismukes and Glen Lucas.

Survivors include a son, Roger Dale (Elaine) Stewart of Tallasee; a daughter-in-law, Shirley R. Stewart of Okeechobee, Fla.; two granddaughters, Pamela Slapak of Geneva, Ill., and Daphne Flynn of Okeechobee, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Killingsworth of Norcross, Ga.

Marvin Sanders Pugh

Services for Marvin Sanders Pugh, 84, of Troy, who died at Troy Health and Rehab Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, will be at 2 p.m. today at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Bobby Hood and the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

His wife, Doris Whatley Pugh; son, Rex Don Pugh; daughters, Mary June Horne and Charlotte Annette Miller; brother, Grady Pugh; and son-in-law, William Paul Miller, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Queen Pugh of Troy; children, Sara Miller of New Brockton, Betty Sue Hunt of Troy, Sandra (Bill) Caldwell of Brundidge and Monte Allen (Kathy) Pugh of Troy; two sons-in-law, Robert Miller of Enterprise and James Horne of Montgomery; three step-sons, Richard (Sue) Madaris of Birmingham, Michael Madaris of Pensacola, and Terry (Kathy) Madaris of Montgomery; 17 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Dax Pugh, Drew Caldwell, Jason Hunt, Greg Miller, Darryl Horne and Derek Miller. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons.
