Annie Pearl Coward

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Pearl Coward, 85, Saco Community, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Saco with the Rev. J.M. Bryant, officiating.

Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Saco under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home.

She

was born on Nov. 10, 1920, in Bullock County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. and Ada Johnson.

She departed from this life on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry L. and Ada Johnson; husband, Lee Odis Coward; eight siblings; and three children: Mildred, Lee Odis, Jr., and Artis James.

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Ruby Mae Head (Charles) of Mary Esther, Fla.; Lula Coward of Jamaica, N.Y.; and Laura Mae Robinson (Joseph) of Byron, Ga.; sevens sons: Nebraska Coward of Troy; Herman Coward (Bridget) of Brundidge; Willie Coward of Troy; Charlie L. Coward of Crestview, Fla.; James W. Coward of Tampa, Fla.; Andrew Coward (Ernesta) of Danville, Va.; and Henry L. Coward (Charlene) of Augusta, Ga.; fifty-six grandchildren; one hundred fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Henry Herbert Kingry

Henry Herbert Kingry died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. He was 95. He had lived with his daughter in Swannanoa, N.C. for the last few years.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Rehobeth Baptist Church with grandson, Dr. Richard Odom and Dr. Travis Free officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2006. At other times the family will be at the home of his son, James, at 6460 South Park Avenue, Dothan, AL.

Mr. Kingry was born and reared in Dothan, Houston County, Alabama, where he lived most of his life. He served his country in the Navy and Coast Guard. He was a farmer and employee of Hedstrom Union and Charles Manufacturing Company. Mr. Kingry was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church and also attended Swannanoa First Baptist Church while in North Carolina.

Mr. Kingry is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Lasseter Kingry.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Nina Kingry Stafford and husband, Gene, Swannanoa, North Carolina and a son, James E. Kingry and wife, Martha, of Dothan; eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Bill and Henry Odom, Paul and Steve Kingry and grandsons-in-law, Scot Munro and Mike Culpepper.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Atwell’s Sunday School Class of Rehobeth Baptist Church.
