Mary Chapman

Mary Chapman, 85, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Graveside services will be Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with the Rev. Chadwick Teal officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.

She was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Alabama to the late Robert L. Brooks and Luttie Bell Hooks Brooks. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Olin Chapman, brothers, Fred Brooks, Monroe Brooks, Hubert Brooks and Maxon Brooks.

Survivors include

a son and wife, Allen and Arlyn Chapman of Sharpsburg, Ga.; a daughter and husband, Ann and Camden Kent of Alabaster; grandchildren, Leanne and Kelvin Whitaker of Madison and Ashley Pugh of Seattle, Wash; a great-grandaughter, Ansley Whitaker of Madison; brothers Reece and Ann Brooks of Montgomery, Guthrie and Carol Brooks and Greenville; brothers-in-law Claud Chapman of Union Springs, Demp and Frances Chapman of Union Springs; sister-in-law, Mitzie Brooks of Columbus, Ga., Myrt Cope of Union Springs and several nieces and nephews.
