Annabelle Ammons Wilkes

Mrs. Annabelle Ammons Wilkes age 86 of Jack, AL departed this life Saturday, October 29, 2005 at her home in Jack, AL (Zion Chapel Community). Funeral services will be held at Zion Chapel Baptist Church on Monday, October 31, 2005 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ben Amlong and Rev. Chris Barrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Jack; AL. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home Sunday, October 30, 2005 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mrs. Wilkes will lie in state one hour prior to services at Zion Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter-Rachel Bryan (Jimmy) of Jack, AL, granddaughter-Susan Bryan of Jackson, MS, Grandson-Dr. Jim Bryan of Grand Rapids, MI, grandson-Pete Bryan (Mary) of Birmingham, AL, step daughter-Laura Clark of Milton, FL, sister-Gladys Ammons Roling of Troy, AL and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilkes was preceded in death by her Husband-M. Curtis Wilkes and a Son-Frank Wilkes.

John Wilmer (Pete) Meredith

John Wilmer (Pete) Meredith, 78, of Pensacola, Fla., died Wednesday, October 24, 2005, in a Pensacola hospital.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2005, at the Lutheren Church of the Resurrection, 4524 W. Fairfield Drive, with Rev. David Robatzen officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Union Springs at 3 p.m. on Monday.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home, 100 Beverly Pkwy. In Pensacola, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is at Faith Chapel from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 30.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection since 1961. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Avey Marie Meredith.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan M. Hein (Robin), Cheryl Fields (Richard) and Janet L. Meredith (P. Moulin); brother, Charles Tommy Meredith (Bess); two grandchildren, Klark Gray and Stephen Fields; a great-grandchild, Madison Gray; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
