Albert Ewell Woodruff

Albert Ewell Woodruff, 83, passed away Oct. 13, 2005, after a year long illness at Plantation Manor in McCalla.

He was preceded in death by his wife Laurette Ray Woodruff in 1996.

He leaves behind a daughter, Anne Woodruff Benton; son-in-law, Terry W. Benton of Hoover; one grandson, Bradley Tate Benton of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Laura Anne Benton of Hoover; one sister, Evelyn Hill of Pensacola, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was born in Greenville. At the completion of high school, he was a soldier during WW II and afterwards attended and graduated from Auburn University. He moved to Brundidge to work with veterans and then later began and ended his career with Bob's Feeds. He was an avid gardener and a member of Brundidge Church of Christ.

His family thanks Odyssey Hospice and all of the staff of Plantation Manor for their loving care during the last year. The service will be conducted by his son-in-law and minister, Terry Benton, and friend and minister, Barney Keith of Hueytown and also Minister Thomas May.

The service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge on Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at 1 p.m.

The family will be greeting friends at Dillard Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge. Pallbearers will be his nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests loving gifts be made to Odyssey Health Care; 2000B Southbridge Parkway; Suite 150; Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
