Richard C. "R.C" Carter

Richard C. "R.C" Carter, 88 of Brundidge, AL passed away April 14, 2005.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 17, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery with military honors.  Mr. Carter was a WWII Veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor. He retired from the State of Alabama Department of Transportation. He was one of the founders of Hamilton Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department and served for many years as Assistant Chief and Chief.  Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Gould and Ella Carter, sisters, Mary Berry and Jessie Dansby and brothers, Marvin and D.T. Carter.  He is survived by his wife, Duva Carter, Son, Richard C. Carter, Jr. (Karen) of Birmingham, Step-daughters, Eunice (Billy) Floyd of Troy, Shellie (Ben) Adams of Pace, Fla., Nellyne (Bill) Weston of Ramer, Grandchildren, Grant and Amanda Carter, Heath Carter, Kristen Carter, Brian and Terry Henry, Brian and Jacki Adams, Warren and Amanda Powell, Teresa Davis and Keith Weston, Great grandchildren, Heather Davis, Lindsey Davis, Ashley Weston, Ben Gordon Adams, Tessa Adams, Wyatt Powell, Brother, Golden (Mable) Carter and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, April 16, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Debra K. Haws, 49, of Troy died at her home Thursday, April 14, 2005. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Friday, April 15, 2005,

from 6-8 p.m. Fruneral services will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 3 p.m. with Reverend Shirlie Ellis officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Assembly of God Church Cemetery, in Brundidge with Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge directing. The family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. The pallbearers will be Rhett Brantley, Bill Smith, Chris Shiver, Drew Haws, Ronnie Gregory, John Sneed, and Sam Griffin. The honorary pallbearer is James Scott. Survivors include her husband, Gerald K. Haws of Tarentum; two daughters, Sandy Brantley of Tarentum, and Casey Haws of Tarentum; two sons, Wiley Brantley of Tarentum, and Derrick Haws of Tarentum; four grandchildren, Amber Brantley, Chelsey Brantley, Kayla Lee, and Mikey Brantley;

Father, Gus Ellis, Jr. of Luverne; Sister, Martha Smith of Tarentum.
