Mrs. Gladys (Fuller) Carr

Mrs. Gladys (Fuller) Carr, 90, a life long resident of Zion Chapel Community died Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Elba General Hospital in Elba, AL. Funeral services will be held at Zion Chapel Baptist Church on Friday, October 1, 2004 at

2:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Maddox, Rev. Joel Jackson, Rev. Mark Griffin and Rev. William Goodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Elba, AL. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30, 2004 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

&uot;Miss Gladys&uot; as she was affectionately called, was born the eldest of seven children to Joe and Mary Smith Fuller on February 3, 1914. She attended the Zion Chapel one-room schoolhouse. Until her death, she was the oldest active member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church. Miss Gladys was a most loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a friend to all who knew her and genuinely loved everyone with whom she came into contact.

Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her parents; her Husband – Nathaniel Carr; a Daughter – Dorothy Merle Jackson, a Granddaughter- Brenda Gail Jackson, two Brothers – Eugene and Harold Fuller, a Sister – Joy Bragg, and a Son-in-Law – Billy Paul Owens.

Dorothy W. Copeland

Dorothy W. Copeland, 89, a native of Brundidge, AL and

a long-time resident of Dauphin Island, AL, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2004. Mrs.

Copeland was a retiree of the Corps of Engineers after a long career in civil service.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Gibson of Fowl River, AL; two granddaughters, Victoria Yeager of Dauphin Island, AL and Dorothy (David) Eldridge of Mobile, AL and two great-grandchildren, Charles and Elizabeth Eldridge of Mobile, AL. A private family service will be held at 10 A. M. on Friday, October 1, 2004. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, AL.
