J.B. Cummings

J.B. Cummings, 71, of Troy died July 2 at Pike Manor Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, at Mount Olive #2 Baptist Church in Banks with Rev. James Condrey officiating. Burial will follow at Clay Hill Church Cemetery. Visitation will be July 7 from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home in Troy.

Cummings, a retired truck driver, was born Sept. 1, 1932 in Pike County. He is the son of the late Mrs. Mary Emily Youngblood Cummings and A.B. Cummings.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Cummings of Banks; daughter Dorothy A. Cummings of Banks; daughter Yolanda Snell (Carlos) Cummings of Clio; daughter Florence (Willie) Cummings of Troy; son Willie B. (Brenia) Cummings of Union Springs; godson Abraham (Rikeyta) Snell of Birmingham; sister Bunia Mae McMillian, sister Sarah Nell Cummings and sister Emma "Candy" Woods all of Troy; brother Alga "Pee Wee" Cummings of Dayton, Ohio; brother Charles Cummings of Troy; and brother Roy (Shirley) Youngblood of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters-in-law: Laura Pearl Walton of New Jersey, and Mabel Lee Harris and Annie Harris Reed of Banks, and Ole Mae Carlton of Troy; three brothers-in-law: D.C. Harris of Troy; Freman McNair of Jacksonville, Fla.; James Frank Lee of Enterprise; eight grandchildren, two god grandchildren, a special niece, Ethel Mae Waters of Troy, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be cousins and friends of the family.
