Janice Culpepper Hussey

Services for Janice Culpepper Hussey, 60, of Columbus, Ga. who died Saturday, November 22, 2003 will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Striffler Hamby Mortuary Chapel in Phenix City.

Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.

Visitation was from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her father, J. Q. Culpepper.

Survivors include her husband, Sanford M. Hussey; three sons and their wives, Alan and Sharon Hussey, Chris Hussey and Sandy and Michelle Hussey all of Phenix City; eight grandchildren, Jade Hussey, Jessica Hussey, Morgan Hussey, A.J. Hussey, Cody Hussey, Kegan Hussey, Nicholas Hussey and Kindell Hussey; mother, Vernie Dease Culpepper of Phenix City; Brother and his wife, Jerry and Fannie Culpepper of Phenix City; nephew, Scott

Culpepper and a niece Jeri Lynn Neel.

Lex O. Byrd

Services for Lex O. Byrd, 65, of the Hamilton Cross Roads Community in Pike County who died Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery after a brief illness will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 25,

at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Revs. Joe Underwood and Harold Peters officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service

Burial will be in the church cemetery with full Masonic Rites at graveside under the direction of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 at the funeral home.

Mr Byrd was a native of the Longstreet Community of Dale County where he was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He

was a retired aircraft mechanic having worked at

Fort Rucker and

at Dannely Field In Montgomery. He was a member of the Brundidge Masonic Lodge No. 184 and the Alcazar Shrine Temple. He raised cattle, farmed, enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in the yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Lucy Ezell, brother, Maxwell Armour Byrd and his first wife, Wanda Dykes Byrd.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Rhodes Byrd of Brundidge; daughter, Elaine Byrd Corbin and her husband, Joe of Brundidge; step daughter, Kassey Rhodes of Brundidge; two sons, Neal Byrd of Prattville and Tony Byrd of Ozark; step son, Klint Rhodes of Brundidge; step mother, Lillie Mae Sullivan of Ozark; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Wanda McKnight of Newton, Alma Jean Jackson of Ariton and Catherine Wise and her husband, Fonteil of Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law, Tedd Carroll Byrd and his wife Jeanette of Southport, Fla. and two grandsons, Scott and Max Corbin of Brundidge.
