Charlie G. Ryles

Services for Charlie G. Ryles, 60, who died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J. C. Folks officiating.

Burial will be at Elam Cemetery in Springhill under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Mr. Ryles was born Aug. 1, 1943, in Pike County. He attended the Pike County Schools and was employed with HB&G for almost 40 years. At an early age he joined the Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Ryles, one child and his father, Sandford Ryles, Sr.

Survivors include seven daughters, Dorothy, Charlene, Sandra, Andreana (Marcus), Blenda, Keronica and Kimberly; two sons, Gregory and Christopher, five grandchildren; mother, Myrtle Ryles; two sisters, Hazel Bean and Lois Bean; four brothers, Roy Lee (Annie), Willie, Sandford and Johnny Frank; two sisters-in-law, Evangeline Cheatom and Bessie Williams; four brothers-in-law, Johnny (Sylvia) Cannon, Jimmy (Essie) Cannon, Willie Cannon and Charles Cannon; special friend, Cheryl Williams and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Floralbearers will be his nieces and cousins.

Frank James Shipman

Services for Frank James Shipman, 51, of Fayetteville, Ga., who died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Felton Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Mr. Shipman was born Jan. 6, 1952. At an early age he joined the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Hillcrest High School in Brundidge where he graduated with the class of 1970. He furthered his education at Alabama State University and completed his education at Syracuse University in New York.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pinkie Ola Shipman.

Survivors include his wife Lauretta Bowen Shipman of Fayetteville, Georgia; one daughter and her husband, Shanna and Hector Milinni Conesa of Hamilton, Ohio; grandson, Gabriel Conesa of Hamilton; two step children and wife, Karynne Latrice Bowen and Julius Terrell and Ajyynne Renea Bowen both of Fayetteville; father, Will Shipman of Troy; four brothers and their wives, Willie Hubert and Regina Shipman of Troy, Jessie Ray and Delois Shipman of Hamilton, Ohio, Jerry Lewis and Grenada Shipman of Detroit, Michigan and Johnnie Mack Shipman of Opelika; six sisters, Ceal Shipman, Lucille Shipman, Ruby Lee Shipman, Martha Ruth Shipman and Charlene Shipman all of Troy and Ethel Lee Goodwin of Hamilton and one god sister, Eula Douglass Croskey of Troy.

Pall bearers will be his nephews and friends.

Floralbearers will be the Hillcrest High School Class of 1970 classmates.

Robert Victor Lee

Graveside services for Robert Victor Lee, 80, of Lanett who died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Dr. Randy Williams officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Johnson-Brown Service Funeral Home of Lanett.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the funeral home.

Mr. Lee was born April 10, 1923, in Rockmart, Ga. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army Rangers in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Mr. Lee retired in 1980 from West Point Foundry and Machine Company after 36 years of service with the company. He was a member of West Point First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Kiwanis Club and the West Point Moose Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolly Key Brown Lee and Robert V. Lee, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona Boone Lee; three daughters and their husbands, Linda and Al Pearce of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Vickie and Richard King and Teena and Steven Sorrell both of Lanett; son and his wife, Bobby and Susan Lee of Montgomery; two sisters, Irene Ingles of Smyrna, Georgia and Margaret Nicholson of Rockmart, Ga.; five grandchildren and wife, John and Robin Rhein of Newnan, Georgia, Dana Pearce and

Paige Pearce both of Ft. Walton Beach and Devon Owens and Nicholas Sorrell both of Lanett and eight great-grandchildren.
