Joe Houston Harrod

Services for Joe Houston Harrod, 62, of Grady who died Wednesday July 23, 2003 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery will be at 4 p.m. Friday July 25, 2003 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Revs. Earl Oakes and Danny Reynolds officiating.

Burial will be in Hills Chapel Cemetery in Grady under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday July 24, 2003 at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father, A.D. Harrod

Survivors include his wife Argie Harrod of Grady; four children, Denese Daniels of Ozark, Melissa Harrod of Opp; Joe (Lynn) Harrod, Jr. of Deatsville and Kenneth (Margaret) Daniels of Troy; mother, Clara Deese of Grady; step daughters and their husbands, Donna and Steve Sanders of Goshen and Marsha and Allen Kelley of Goshen; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands, Peggy and James Doggett of Grady and Faye and Paul Wilson of Grady and a nephew Derek Wilson of Grady.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Chancellor, Johnny Nobles, Knox Norman, Steve Sanders, Derek Wilson and Paul Wilson.

David Aubrey "Bud" Hutto

Services for David Aubrey "Bud" Hutto, 82, of the Tanyard Community who died Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at Baptist Memorial Center in Montgomery, will be Saturday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy.

Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in the Tanyard Community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, July 25 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hutto was born in Bullock County, Ala., to the late Ike and Lillian Hutto. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Fuller, and two brothers, Joe Hutto

and twin brother Osborne Hutto.

Mr. Hutto is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lecy Golden Hutto of Tanyard; sister Virginia Haisten, Trussville; sisters-in-law, Lane Hutto, Tanyard; Elma and husband John Fryer of Brundidge; Grace Ingram, Troy; Myrtice Golden, Columbus, Ga.; brothers-in-law Stanley and wife Genell Golden, Columbus, Ga.; Harold E. and wife Webbie Golden, Tallassee; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Dennis Golden, Don Haisten, David Hutto, Durwood Hutto, Paul Hutto, John Ingram and Conley Jordan.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, c/o Gene Harrison, Rt. 2, Banks, Ala. 36005.

Carrie Kent

Services for Carrie Kent, 80, of Troy who died July 22, 2003 in Troy will be at 11 a.m. Friday July 25, 2003 at Clay Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Coffee County with Rev. David Boykin officiating.

Burial will be in Clay Hill Cemetery under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was Thursday July 24th at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

She was born January 1, 1923 in Pike County. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Barr. She was a housekeeper, attended the public schools of Pike County and a member of Clay Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Earl and Georgia Larry; four grandchildren, Earl Larry, Jr., Linda Ayers, Tonya Lyn and Reginald Larry; three great-grandchildren, Alfono, Karl Lyn, and Earliana Larry all of Los Angeles, California; two sisters, Ruby H. Magwood of Auburn and Francis Oliver of Sarasota, Florida and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Earl Larry, Sr., Earl Larry, Jr., Nathan Adair, Henry Lee Barr, John E. Barry, Jimmy Adair, Willie Adair, Richard Adair, Larry Adair and Alfred Adair.

The family request memorials be made to Clay Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Ruby Mae Jackson Brundidge

Services for Ruby Mae Jackson Brundidge, 88, of Troy who died Sunday July 20, 2003 at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy will be at 11 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2003 at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Goshen with Rev. Henry Gillis officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be at 12 noon Friday July 25th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brundidge was born January 24, 1915 in Pike County. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Brundidge, son, Lonzo Brundidge and a grandson, Larry Townsend.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Willie D. and Mamie Brundidge of Sanford, Florida; three daughters, Willie Pearl Gambles, Viola Brundiddge and Flora Brundidge all of Troy; son-in-law, James Townsend of Detroit, Michigan; three sisters, Julia M. Jones, Mae Ocie Green and Mary Lou Jones all of Troy; brother and his wife, Arthur

and Georgia Mae Jackson, Jr. of Troy; five sisters-in-law, Bessie K.Brundidge of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Mattie Williams of Troy, Johnnie Jackson of Auburn, Ruthie M. Jackson of Troy and Velma Jackson of Cincinnati, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

Floral bearers will be the nieces and neighbors.

Larry Warren, Jr.

Services for Larry Warren, Jr., 47, will be Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 3 p.m. at Macedonia AME Church in Goshen with the Rev. Tony Longsahw and Elder Willie L. Brantley officiating.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. Friday, July 25.

Mr. Warren was born Sept. 20, 1956 to the late Rufus Wilson Warren and Ruby Lois Warren (Pless). He was a 1974 graduate of Charles Henderson High School, and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed at K&W Plastics, Inc., in Troy.

Mr. Warren is survived by his mother Ruby Lois Pless Warren, Troy; two children, TiLaquita Jackson of Dallas, Texas and Tarryon Warren of Troy; one sister, Helen Pless Cockrell, Duncanville, Texas; two brothers, Jimmy C. Pless, Birmingham and Freddie Lee Pless of Union Springs; two grandchildren, JaQurris Warren, Troy, and DeAsia Jackson of Dallas, Texas; one aunt, Flora Mae Flowers, Dallas, Texas; one uncle, Willie Pless of Troy; one special brother-in-law Rockie Thomas of Duncanville, Texas; and devoted friends, Paul Smith, Cookie Guilford, Jeffery Blair, Jackie Cummings and Frances Jeater, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
