The Prattville Lady Lions came to Troy Thursday, to play what would be a very wet, very cold softball game.

The Lady Trojans came from behind to win 3-2.

Charles Henderson struck first with one run in the first. But Prattville pitching was strong and did not allow another run until the sixth.

In the fourth, Prattville would get a couple of hits and score its first run of the game. Prattville scored again in the sixth and took the lead 2-1.

Down late in the game, the Lady Trojans came alive scoring their first run on two Prattville fielding errors.

Their second came much more dramatically.

With two outs and a runner on second, Clara Goodson got her second hit of the game and the game winning RBI with her double to left.

"We made the defensive plays we had to," Coach Steve Haug said. "Clara's hit was huge."

Clara Goodson and Sara Spann went two-for-three.

Goshen falls to Highland Home

Highland Home brought its junior-varsity team to town to play the Goshen Lady Eagles on a cold and wet Thursday afternoon.

The game would be called after five innings with Highland Home on top 19-6.

Highland Home struck first scoring three runs in the first, with Goshen adding one of its own.

Highland Home tacked on five more in the second due, in part, to numerous

walks by the Goshen pitching staff.

Hilary West came

into the game late in the second to calm down the Lady Eagles.

In the fourth, however, Highland Home would wake back up. Highland scored

eight runs, mainly off walks and wild pitches.

Goshen did not give up. The Lady Eagles took the field in the fifth, and scored two more runs.

But their effort would not be enough as the mercy rule was put into affect after the fifth inning.
