Miriam A. Taylor

Services for Miriam A. Taylor, 79, of Brundidge who died Friday, March 7, 2003, in Montgomery will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack King officiating.

Burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Brundidge under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge. There will be a 30 minute lie-in-state prior to the service.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Taylor.

Survivors include a son, Brad Taylor and Lori Stallings of Brundidge; two granddaughters, Tiffany and Stephanie Taylor of Brundidge; two great-granddaughters, Casey Brooks and Malloree Morgan, two sisters, Margie Williams and Dot Hampton both of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and one brother Tommy Sullivan of Blairsville, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Steve Barras. Landon Morgan, Craig Rhodes and Mike Taylor.

Dr. J.C. (Buddy) Brantley

Services for Dr. J.C. (Buddy) Brantley, 62, of Troy who died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at his home will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. March 9, 2003. at First Baptist Church of Troy with Dr. Ed. Walter and Dr. James Nichols officiating.

There will be a one hour lie-in-state prior to the service.

Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the funeral home.

Dr.Brantley was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Brantley.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Brantley of Troy; three sons and wife, Scott Brantley of San Francisco, Calif., Andy Brantley of Tampa, Fla., and Paul and Jennifer Brantley of Birmingham; daughter, Libby Brantley of Atlanta, Ga.; father, Dr. J.A. Brantley of Troy; step-children, Debbie and Rickey Hamm of Suwanee, Georgia and Charlotte and Buck Watkins of Troy; five grandchildren, Jennifer Watkins, Taylor Hamm, Jacob Watkins, Trevor Hamm and Gracie Nichols; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wiley and Parker White of Montgomery and Jacquelyn and Jerry Floyd of Troy; brothers and sisters-in-law

Phillip and Sondra Brantley of Knoxville and Neal Brantley of Montgomery; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carvel and Evelyn Anderson and Pat and Becky Anderson; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ethma Connell, Nannette Williams, Joyce and Randal Senn, Gertrude Anderson and Frances Anderson.

Pallbearers are Ed. Barnett, Dr. Marvin Blumentritt, Alan Boothe, Dr. Mickey Dichiara, Earl Ellis, Hugh Haynes, John Schmidt and Dr. Alan Young.

Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Dr. Rudy Argenti, Tom Collier, Paul Davis, Curtis McVay, Men's Sunday School Class at First Baptist, Pike County Medical Association, Staff of Edge Regional Medical Center and Staff of Pike Manor Health Care Center.

Marilyn Baggett McGowan

Marilyn Baggett McGowan, 64, of Tallassee, died Saturday, March 8, 2003.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2003, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Harold Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery near Henderson with Skeen Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Monday, March 10, 2003, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

She was born Oct. 24, 1938 in Pike County to Hilma Berry and the late Parker Baggett. She was a high school graduate and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Baggett and Janice Floyd.

Survivors include her mother, Hilma Baggett of Troy; a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Dewayne Parker of Troy; two grandchildren, Tiffany Mills of Brundidge and Tara Parker of Troy; a brother, Jerry Baggett of Greenville; several nieces and nephews and Miranda Williams of Brundidge.

Memorial may be made to the Park Memorial Church Building Fund and Hopewell Cemetery.
