Nicholas Heath Sessions

Services for Nicholas Heath "Nick" Sessions, 17, of Troy, who died Tuesday, January 28, 2003, in Birmingham will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2003, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy, with the Revs. Matt Helms, Wayne Locklar and Ken Burnette officiating.

Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery in the Almeria Community under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2003, at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Grady and Myrtle Sessions, Bud and Rober Taylor, Raif and Grace Wilson and Johnnie B. Maddox.

Survivors include his parents, Durwood and Melanie Sessions of Troy; a sister, Brooke Sessions of Troy; paternal grandparents, Murrel and Sybil Sessions of Troy; maternal grandparents, Joe and Sheila Maddox of Troy and

Alvin and Jerrie Stinson of New Hope; a great-grandmother, Nell Maddox of New Brockton; aunts and uncles, David and Barbara Sessions of Still's Crossroads, Craig and Kristi Maddox, Beth Maddox and Scott Maddox, all of Troy and Curt Stinson of New Hope; and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Adam Helms, Wesley Pennington, Daniel Porter, Clint Pugh, Tyson Pugh, Jason Smiley, Chaz Richards and Pete Van Horn.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Charles Henderson High School Football Team and Coaching Staff and the Youth Group at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Jimmy Marvin Rose

Jimmy &uot;Jim&uot; Marvin Rose, 70, of Pensacola, Fla.,

died Sunday, January 26, 2003.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home in Pensacola, Fla., with the Rev. Carl Sanders officiating.

Interment will follow at 11 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery with Masonic Services and Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m until 8 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jim was born in Pike County, Alabama to Hubert and Wease Rose. He graduated from Troy State College. He served in the United States Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Reserve.

Jim was a member of Hadji Shrine Temple where he served two terms as President of the Oriental Band. He was past president, 1986-87, of the S.E.S.O.B.A., a member of Masonic Lodge # 42, Scottish Rite York, a charter member of Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge No. 2256, a member of American Legion Post 340 and past director of the Royal Order of Jesters. He was serving as S.E.S.O.B.A. chaplain. In recent years Jim and his wife Avis enjoyed traveling in their motor home with their many friends. Jim had served as Master of Travel in the NCT.

Survivors include: his wife, Avis Williford Rose; a daughter and her husband, Donna Vance Thornton-Luke and of Tallahassee, Fla.; three sons and their wives, Tommy and Claudia LeCroy of Pensacola; Mike and Tina Rose of Troy and Blevins and Amy Rose of Pensacola; ten grandchildren, Tammy Wooten and her husband Allen of Thomasville, Ga., Jason Rose, Michael Rose, Katie Rose, Zachery Rose, Peyton Rose, and Griffin Slade Rose of Alabama and Cayla LeCroy ,Mallory LeCroy and Parker Rose of Pensacola; a brother, William Bartley Rose, his wife Jo Margaret and their daughter Lauren, of Monroe, La.; and a great-granddaughter, Langley Rose Wooten of Thomasville, Ga.

Active pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Oriental Band members.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hadji Shrine Temple Transportation Fund or to the Daughters of the Nile Convelescent Relief Fund.
