H. B. Jackson

Services for H. B. Jackson, 86, of Troy who died Friday January 17, 2003 at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy will be at 2 p.m. Saturday January 25, 2003 at Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John Folks officiating.

Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be Friday January 24, 2003 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jackson was born April 16, 1916 in Pike County. His parents were Leola McBride and Jeff Jackson.

He was a taxi driver and a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 162.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie Mae Roberson.

Survivors include one sister, Elnora Solomon of Montgomery; brother-in-law Barney (Addie R.) Roberson of Troy; one devoted nephew, Jeff David (Bonnie) Jackson of Glenwood; one devoted niece, Shirley J. (Cecil) Maddox and several other special nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Hollis Jones

Services for Hollis Jones, 85, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, formerly of Pike County who died Wednesday January 15, 2003 in Goldsboro will be at 3 p.m. Saturday January 25, 2003 at Rock West Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. W. C. Howard officiating.

Burial will be in Springfield Cemetery in Ansley under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be at 12 Noon Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hollis was born April 25, 1917 in Pike County. His parents were Johnnie and Pearlie V. Jones. He attended the public schools of Pike County . He was a retired sanitaton worker and a member of Rock West Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors

include three daughters and husbands, Martha and Charles Bates of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Ira Nell Dulaney of Crestview, Florida and Sharon and Jesse Williams of Fairfield Heights, Illinois; six grandsons, Darnell, Joshua, Gerrald, George, Jesse and Hollis; four sisters, Ola J.Mchoney, Ruby Saulsberry, Johnnie Mae Reese and Dorothy P. Pinerton; four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bessie Jones; one brother-in-law, Darnell Pinerton and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be the nephews.

Flowerbearers will be the nieces.

Willie Frank Holmes

Services for Willie Frank Holmes, 84, of Troy who died January 23, 2003 at his residence will be at 2 p.m. Saturday January 25, 2003 at First Baptist Church in Troy with Dr. Edwin R. Walter and Rev. W. O. Sanders officiating.

Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., one hour prior to the service Saturday January 25, 2003 in First Baptist Church Sanctuary.

Mr. Holmes was born June 12, 1918 in Pike County. His parents were James Nathaniel Holmes and Lovannie ElDora Mobley. He completed the 12th grade and was an Assistant Construction Superintendent. Mr. Holmes was retired from South Alabama Electric Co-op. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy, Deacon Emeritus of First Baptist Church in Troy, Chairman of the Deacons when Activity Building was constructed, member of Troy Lodge, lifetime member of DAV, served as Vice Commander for the State Department of Alabama, member of the Kiwanis Club and played baseball while in service at Fort Seal, Oklahoma and was Sevice Commander.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Mila Motes Holmes of Troy, son and his wife, Frank Wayne and Judy Holmes of Andalusia; two grandsons and wife, Michael Wayne and Deanna Holmes of Birmingham and Jeffery Holmes of Mobile and several nieces.

Pallbearers will be Charles Norris, James O'Neal, Whitey Whitman, Durwood Kelly, Charles Walker, Randy Ross and Rudolph Shelley.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Baraca Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church.

The family request memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Jimmy Ray Morgan

Services for Jimmy Ray Morgan, 53, a resident of Luverne died Thursday January 23, 2003. Funeral services will be held Friday January 24, 2003 at 1 a.m. from the Patsburg Baptist Church with Revs. Mac Butts and Travis Hitt officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Morgen is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Harrelson Morgan and a brother, John Glenn Morgan.

He is survived by his wife, Penny H. Morgan; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Morgan of Brantley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev.and Mrs. Travis Hitt of Luverne; two sons and wife, Jace and Angie Morgan and Jon Morgan both of Luverne; one granddaughter, Sydney Morgan and two brothers, Robert Morgan of Luverne and Eddie Morgan of Troy.

Active Pallbearers will be Rexton Dickey, Joe Rex Sport, Eddie Jennings, Raymond Trotter, Mervin Schofield and Steve Harrelson.

Honorary pallbearers will include Jim Johnson, Mack Wise, Taylor Kilcrease, Jerry Kilcrease, Bob Sexton, Edward Fowler, Johnny Hollis, Charles Alford, David Pippin, James Hollis, Jr., Willie Smith, Jr.,

Merrill Sport, Kenneth Worthington and Mike Sims.

Mr. Morgan will lie-in-state at the church for thirty minutes prior to funeral services.
