Macon, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference will add Lipscomb University as a full member beginning with the 2003-04 fall athletic season.

Lipscomb boasts a successful athletic history at NAIA and will begin Conference play when the Bisons move from Provisional to Active Division I status in the fall of 2003-04. Lipscomb fields teams in each of the conference’s 14 official championship sports.

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, Lipscomb offers more than 100 academic majors in its 21 academic departments. Lipscomb also boasts what will beone of the finest on-campus arenas in any league; the newly built Allen Arena

seats more than 5,000 spectators and is a state of the art athletic facility. Conference games in the Allen Arena will feature one longstanding rival as a visitor.

Lipscomb’s addition into the A-Sun will give the conference its first inter-city rivalry when the Bisons meet Belmont University.
