Carla Ann Thomas, 36, died Monday, April 2, 2001 in Tuscaloosa.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Troy with the Revs. Jason Thomas and A.C. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Dunn’s Chapel A.M.E. Church with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

She was born April 26, 1964 in Pike County to Hamp and Willie Mae Thomas.

Survivors include her mother, Willie Mae Thomas; father, Hamp Thomas, both of Troy; two brothers, Thurston Thomas and Lorenzo Thomas, both of Atlanta, Ga.; grandfather, Gillard Jones of Troy; nine aunts; five uncles; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends and god sister, Freddie Dixon of Tuscaloosa.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Matrons and ushers will serve as floralbearers.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. today at Harrison Funeral Home.

M. Ray Hughes

M. Ray Hughes, 75, of Macon, Ga. and a native of Troy, died March 31, 2001 after a short illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7 at Mount Pleasant Church in Linwood with his nephew, Burney Enzor officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; sons, Richard and Michael and their families.
