Pinkie Lee Carlisle Johnson

Pinkie Lee Carlisle Johnson, 80, 104 Segars Lane, Troy, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Edge Regional medical Center.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Dunn’s Chapel A.M.E. Church in Troy with the Rev. Gregory McLeod, pastor, and the Rev. Tony Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Orion A.M.E. Cemetery in Orion with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at noon at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 1, 1921, to the late Happy Ann Baker and the late John Henry Pryor in Pike County. She was educated in Pike County Schools and, at an early age, she joined Orion Methodist Church and later joined Dunn’s Chapel A.M.E. Church and was a devoted member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include three sons, Clarence (Ann) Carlisle, Fletcher Carlisle, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Willie Floyd Carlisle of Troy; three daughters, Willie Muriel Lewis, Andrea Carlisle, both of Fort Lauderdale, JoAnne Carlisle of Troy; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. Flowerbearers will be Eastern Star and ushers of Dunn’s Chapel A.M.E. Church.
