Dr. Schloemer and his team at Light Years Away Cosmetic Surgery and Day Spa work hard to make each patient look and feel the way they have always wanted.

Light Years Away, located at 101 Pecan Street in Troy, is coming on its two-year anniversary in Troy and Schloemer has recently completed his one hundredth operation.

Schloemer comes to Troy from Michigan were worked in vascular surgery. He said came to Troy because he felt it would be a better environment to work in than Michigan.

&uot;I didn’t like the professional atmosphere in Michigan,&uot; Schloemer said. &uot;I really liked the south; I saw a lot of potential for growth here and I saw a need for this in the community.&uot;

Opening Light Yeas Away gave Schloemer a chance to return to his first interest- Cosmetic surgery.

&uot;I started in cosmetic surgery and Vietnam got me into Vascular Surgery,&uot; he said. &uot;This was a chance for me to get back to what I really enjoyed.&uot;

Schloemer’s specialties are breast procedure and liposuction.

Breast implants are $2500 and liposuction ranges from $1750 to $2250.

Schloemer said patients could walk out of the recovery room following the procedure and be back at work in 2-3 days. &uot;If we operate on a Friday you can be back at work on a Monday,&uot; Schloemer said.

There are risks involved with each procedure, but Schloemer works with each patient to determine what is the best choice.

&uot;Something like Liposuction is not the right choice for everyone,&uot; he said. &uot;It’s not an excuse for dieting and exercise, but it can be a good start for some people.&uot;

Schloemer said that following liposuction many patients become to at and live healthier in order to protect their investment.
