Delbert Wayne Carter

Services for Delbert Wayne Carter, 52, of Rocky Mount, N.C., who died Thursday, May 2, 2002, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Wheeler & Woodleif Funeral home with Revs. Charles Taylor and Robert Beamon officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler & Woodleif Funeral Home of Rocky Mount, N.C.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Mr. Gardner was born Dec. 27, 1949, in Martin County. He was the son of the late Elder and Evelyn Bowers Briley Gardner. He was an Army Veteran of Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Wayne Gardner.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Roberts Gardner of Rocky Mount, N.C.; three daughters, Tonja Gardner Golden of Alabama, Tammy Gardner Harrelson of Alabama and Amanda Kay Harrah of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two step-daughters, Kimberly Dawn Harrah and Melissa Ann Harrah; sister and her husband, Faye and Tom Palmer of Rocky Mount, N.C.; grandchildren, J.W. Golden, Danielle Golden, Tiffany Golden, Brenden Lee Harrelson, Michael Harrah and Mikayla Adams and a beloved aunt and second mom, Viola Stocks Brown of Winterville, N.C.

Michael Thomas Kenny

Services for Michael Thomas Kenny, 37, of Montgomery who died Monday, April 29, 2002, at University Hospital in Birmingham will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, from Chapel # 1 at Maxwell Air Force Base.

Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Banks Cemetery in Banks under the direction of Leak-Memory Chapel of Montgomery.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Major Polly Spencer Kenny of Montgomery; son, Jack Spencer Kenny; daughter, Emma Jane Kenny; parents, Stephen James and Carolann Kenny of Inverness, Fla.; grandmother, Alice Kenny of Ocala, Fla.; sister and her husband, Kellyann and Jeffrey Kelley of Park City Utah; sisters-in-law and their husbands Jina and Jimi Jordan of Brundidge and Lyn Spencer and Randy Shoults of Montgomery; brother-in-law and his wife, Alan and Leann Spencer of Arlington, Va.; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Thomas Dwight Alloway

Thomas Dwight Alloway, 15, 347 Aster Ave., Troy, died at his home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. W.C. Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, at Harrison Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 26, 1986, in Pike County to Ms. Mary Alice Alloway. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Alice Alloway; a grandfather, Mike Alloway; a grandmother, Sue Bell Williams; a brother, Kevin Alloway; and eight other brothers and sisters.
