Willie J. Walker

Graveside services for Willie J. Walker, 84, a long time resident of Mt. Moriah Road in Troy who died Friday, April 26, 2002, at Tandem Nursing Home in Pensacola, Fla. was Monday, April 29, 2002, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in the Mt. Moriah Community with Evangelist Gordon Gibbs officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002, at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Ronald and Cindy Walker of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters and their husbands, Frances and Bobby Little of Montgomery, Billie and Nolan Cales of Wetumpka and Jane and Richard Kimbrough of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; sister, Mary Emily Watkins of Troy; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to the Mt. Moriah Cemetery Fund.

Jimmy Rogers

Services for Jimmy Rogers, 59, of Hernando, Fla. who died at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., Friday, April 26, 2002, were Sunday, April 28, 2002, with Heinz Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Rogers was born on June l8, 1942, in Troy. His parents were Leslie and Doris Rogers. He moved to Hernando Fla. in 1991 from Lawrenceburg, Ind., He served in the

U.S. Navy during Vietman. Mr. Rogers was a truck driver for Bekins Van Lines. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association (Chapter T) and also a PADI certified driver.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Rogers, in 1997 and his brother, Robert Rogers, in 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Rogers of Hernando Fla.; son and his wife, James and Laurel Rogers of Summerfield Fla.; daughter, Julie Smith of Hernando, Fla.; mother, Doris Rogers of Lecanto, Fla.; brother, J. R. Rogers of Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jarrod Smith and Devan Smith of Hernando, Fla., and Ashlee Scott of Summerfield, Fla.

Avis Glynn Golden

Services for Avis Glenn Golden, 58, of Forest Home who died Sunday, April 28, 2002, will be at 10:30 a.m. May 1, 2002 from the chapel of

Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy O. Golden of Forest Home; daughter, Tracie Huner of Troy; son-in-law, Christopher Huner of Troy; grandchildren, Brock and Hannah Huner; sister and her husband, Veronica and Mike Blackwell of Atlanta, Ga., and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive flowers or memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.

Mary Charles Richburg James

Services for Mary Charles Richburg James, 80, of Greenville who died Thursday, April 25, 2002, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, at St. Paul Baptist Church in Greenville with Rev. Naamon Wright officiating.

She will lie-in-state from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Bell’s Hudson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, at the funeral home.
