Police are still working to determine a motive in the Thursday night shooting that left two Troy men hospitalized.

According to information released by Chief Anthony Everage,

the investigation into the cause of the shooting remains on-going.

"We have

a good idea" of what led to the shooting, said Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, public information officer. "But we’re still investigating."

Willie J. Fuller, 29, and his brother, 24-year-old Nicky Fuller, were

injured in the shooting, which took place outside a residence on the 100 block of Motes St.

Willie Fuller was shot in the abdomen and after surgery was in stable condition at Edge Regional Medical Center. Nicky Fuller was shot in the face and was listed in stable condition at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center. Both appeared to be shot with a small caliber handgun, Scarbrough.

Scarbrough said police believe the brothers had been involved in an altercation with another individual. "We know there had been a conflict between parties," he said, but police could not release further details because of the investigation.

Scarbrough did say police found another firearm near the victims outside the residence.
