Jewell T. Childs

Services for Jewell T. Childs, 83, of Brundidge who died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Edge Regional Medical Center will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, at St. John Baptist Church with the Revs. Averyt Walker, Don Grantham and Jimmy Helms officiating.

Burial will be in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery in Brundidge under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the funeral home. There will be a one hour lie-in-state prior

to the service.

Survivors include a husband, Harold Childs of Brundidge; son, Kenneth Childs of Brundidge; two daughters, Glenda Shipman of Brundidge and Lynn C. Baker of Eufaula; grandchildren and their husband and wife, Todd Shipman, Lori and Bobby Mitchell, Kevin and Kathy Childs, Jennifer Childs, Bessie Baker and Holly Baker; six great-grandchildren; sister and her husband, Addie Pearl and Ray Johnston of the Roeton Community; several nieces, nephews and other close relatives.

Pallbearers are Atlas Green, Kenneth Jackson, Earl Johnston, Eric Johnston, Phillip Maulden and Denny Rushing.

Sue Newman Ussery

Graveside services for Sue Newman Ussery, 72 , who died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, in Montgomery will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at Antioch Shellhorn

Cemetery with Pastor Duran Sherrer officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include a son, William Joseph "Billy" Ussery of Austin Texas; two daughters, Cara U. Morales of Montgomery and Amy Swindall of Troy; two grandchildren, Joni Johns and Mathew Morales, both of Montgomery and an aunt, Evelyn Esteppe of Huntington, W. Va.

The family request memorials be made to the American Lung Association.

Jean Pope Prevatte

Services for Jean Pope Prevatte, 69, of Troy, who died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Marion Eubank officiating.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Troy under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Dollie Pope; brother, Bobby Pope; and a nephew Ronald Pope.

Survivors include a husband, Joe Prevatte of Pine Level, a son and his wife, Kenneth and Patricia Prevatte of Dothan; two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Marion Eubank of Birmingham and Kellie and Jay Ogburn of McAllen, Texas; grandchildren, Lauren Eubank, Lindsay Eubank, Sarah Danielle Prevatte, Colin Ogburn, and Evan Ogburn; brothers, Bernard Pope, Billy

Pope, and David Pope;

sisters, Molen Poole, Mary Jane Niesen and Marie Howard; several nieces, nephews and friends.
