"We showed a lot of improvement today," said Troy State head coach Melanie Davis.

"But we still have a long way to go.

We fought back and won the first game and got some great pitching all day to help give our offense a chance to win it for us."

BSC (3-10) jumped ahead in game one in the third, as Dawn Treadwell roped a double to the gap in left-center field to drive in the Panthers first run.

The Lady Trojans answered back with a run of their own in the bottom of the third.

Erin Flater’s single to the gap in right-center drove home Mindy Porep from first to tie the game at one.

In the seventh, Bonnie Belin led off with a deep fly to right field that was misplayed by Treadwell, with Belin running all the way to third.

Two batters later, Cruzat singled to end the game.

Christi Curran picked up the win in relief, pitching three scoreless innings while allowing just three hits, to improve her record to 2-1.

Porep led the Troy State offense, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Flater also went 2-for-3 with a RBI.

The Lady Trojans jumped out early in the second game, scoring four runs in the third inning to go ahead 4-0.

Boyd opened the scoring with an RBI double down the left field line that was followed by a RBI single by Tamra Howren.

BSC scored two runs in the fourth, but Troy State answered back with two more in its half of the fourth.

Boyd was at it again, singling up the middle to drive in two more runs to put TSU ahead 6-2.

Ashley Floyd picked up the win, pitching allowing two runs, one earned, and four hits over five innings.

Curran came on in relief and threw two scoreless innings to give TSU the win.

Boyd went 2-for-3 in her first start, with a run scored and three RBIs.

Porep went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Howren went 2-for-3 with a RBI.

The Lady Trojans are back in action again on Friday as they participate in the Georgia Southern Reebok Invitational.
