Oscar J. McLendon, 72, of Banks died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at his home.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 23 at Full Gospel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Russell Pettis officiating. Burial was at Bethel Cemetery in Banks with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include children and their spouses: Faye and Larry Henderson of Banks, Sue and Danny Walker of Glenwood, Willie Jackson McLendon of Banks, Donald and Clara McLendon of the Roeton Community, Ronald E. McLendon of Banks, Mary and Clarence Katt of Troy, Paul McLendon of Brundidge and Peggy Donaldson of Clayhatchee; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and Rip Thomas of Hope Hull, Burnice and Frank Cole of Troy, Joyce Ammons and Larry Dibble of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Jennifer McLendon of Prattville; numerous nieces and nephews; friends, Edna and Jerry Mancil of Troy.

Pallbearers were Buddy Katt, Scott Henderson, Chris McLendon, Michael Paul McLendon, Willie Paul McLendon, Raymond Rotton and Jeremy Walker.
