Eufaula scored six runs in the first inning and held off Troy for the rest of the game to take the win.

"We actually out-hit them in the game," said head coach Cot Wallace. "But the difference was the errors."

Eufaula had five base runners that reached base on error to Troy’s one. Troy had 10 hits to eight for Eufaula.

But Troy bounced back in their next contest against Brundidge, winning 14-2.

Jim Wallace and Chase Bradley scored two runs in the second inning for Troy and in the third inning the National team took control scoring eight runs.

Clay Helms, Chris Davis, James Kohn, Wallace and Bradley all went 2/3 to lead the team for the night. Troy had 12 hits in the game out of 36 at-bats.

Bradley went the distance on the mound for Troy, striking out eight, walking two and giving up just three hits.

Troy faced Eufaula again on Monday night and Wallace talked about his team’s chances.

"We’re about the only team to have played them(Eufaula) close," he said.

"But if we can just cut out the little things that hurt us, we’ll be okay."

Should Troy win, then it is likely they will have to face Eufaula at least once more in sub-districts.
