Annie "Kate" Browning, 76, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Troy, died June 23, 2000 in Miami, Fla.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2000 at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home chapel wiht the Rev. J.N. Flowers presiding. Burial was held at the Carroll Street Cemetery in Troy with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her brother, Willie Albert (Willie Mae) of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son-in-law, Ivery (Eva Lou) Browning Jr.; nephews, James (Joyce) Arthur, Jimmy, Jiel, Billie (Shelia) Long, James (Mary) Edward, Richard, Herman and Mark; neices, Ann Williams, Cora Jackson, Glennie (Willie) Scott,and Marquella Bowens; cousins and friends.

Browning was born to Pete and Viola Long on Dec. 9, 1929. She attended the public schools of Troy. She provided household services to several hotels on Miami Beach. In more recent years she extended her circle of socializing as a member of the Jolly Girls Club.

Pallbearers and floralbearers will be friends of the family.

Annie Charles Copeland

Annie Charles Copeland, 51, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery.

Services were held at 3 p.m. July 1, 2000 at Beulah Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Banks with the Rev. Markus D. Caldwell. Burial was held at Antioch Cemetery with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her mother, Addie Copeland of Brundidge; a daughter, Jennifer R. Copeland of Montgomery; a granddaughter, Jaclyn Copeland of Montgomery; four sisters, Liz (James) Talbert of Brandon, Fla., Annie C. (Roscoe) Terry of Brundidge, Letha Copeland and Mary Helen (Terry)Flowers, both of Brundidge; two brothers, Larry (Teresa) Copeland of Brundidge, Willie (Angela) Copeland of Montgomery; four neices, five nephews, one great-neice, two great-nephews, several aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

Copeland was born to Addie Copeland on Nov. 26, 1948 in Brundidge. She attended the public schools of Pike County.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends and floralbearers will be neices and friends.

Arthur Glen Rodgers

Arthur Geln Rodger, 79, of Montgomery, died Friday, June 30, 2000 in a local hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2000 at Leak Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Paul Turner and Lenny Bolton presiding. Burial will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery with Leak Memory Chapel directing.

Survivors include his wife, Rilzia Livingston Rodgers; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. Rodgers and Debe Rodgers of Montgomery; one daughter and son-in-law, Edith E. Mangrum and Dale Mangrum of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Joe Mack Rodgers of Montgomery, James E. Rodgers of Phenix City; one sister, Ann Barrett of Virginia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eulice Elizabeth Rodgers, and his father, Albert Howell Rodgers.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Rodgers, LaDon Rodgers, Oswald Knight, Don Gilbert, Tommy Danford and Brent Weldon. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Boylston United Methodist Church, James Cannon, Gene Potts and Dr. Don Marshall.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2000 at Leak Memory Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Boylston United Methodist Church, 3 Johnson Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36110.

Ammie Lee Terry

Ammie Lee Terry of Brundidge died Monday, June 26, 2000.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2000 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in the Tarentum Community with the Rev. A. R. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home directing.

Henry Frank Townsend

Henry Frank Townsend of Brundidge died Wednesday, June 28, 2000.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2000 at County Line baptist Church with the Rev. O.L. Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home directing.

Jim Milton Wilson

Jim Milton Wilson, 72, of Brundidge died Thursday, June 29, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center-South.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2000 at St. John Baptist Church in Brundidge with the Rev. Mack King officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge directing.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamelle Wilson; parents, Coley and Fannie Lou Wilson; sister, Betty Sue Hussey and a brother, Mack Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Louise F. Wilson of Brundidge; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Glenda Wilson of Auburn; grandson and his wife, David and Heather Franklin of Auburn.

Pallbearers will be Golden Carter, Jerry Wilkerson, Tom Donn, Mike Wilson, Charles Ellis, Jim Fleming, Harold Nicholson and Carl Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and members of the adult men’s Sunday school class at St. John Baptist Church.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mattie Ethelyn Young

Mattie Ethelyn Young, 90, of Shady Grove, died Saturday, July 1, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2000 at Shady Grove cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Mathews presiding and Dillard Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her son William C. (Bill) Young of Shady Grove, two granchildren, Billy Young of Montgomery, Stefanie Young of Montgomery; a sister-in-law, Olivia Sellers of Shady Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Autis Young.
