Thora Estell Steed Carter, 85, of Brundidge, died Saturday, June 24, 2000 at Pike Manor in Troy.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. David Richburg officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge directing.

Survivors include one son, Danny Byron and daughter-in-law, Deborah Prestwood Carter of Brundidge; grandchildren: Byron, Candace and Mindy Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Thadius Carter; a sister, Ada Steed; brothers: Jenni, Tom, Edgar, Dewey and Arvis Steed; parents, John William and Corene

Pallbearers will be Dicky Carter, Golden Carter, Ray Dansby, Gary Steed, Johnny Steed and Lamar Steed. Honorary pallbearers will be R.C. Carter and Dick Steed.

Letha Rushing

Letha Rushing, 79, of Troy died Sunday, June 25, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2000 at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Ministers Phillip McCollough and Floyd Noble officating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Martin of Wetumpka; two sons, Leo (Ann) Davis of Montgomery and Jimmy (Irma Jean) Davis of Troy; sister, Ellie Mae McCall of Troy; five grandchildren: Connie Campbell, Lisa Woodard, Liz Register, Charles Davis and Dale Davis; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Rushing.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
