Charles Henderson High School held it’s spring sports banquet Thursday night naming award winners and saying goodbye to all the senior athletes that participated during the 1999-2000 season.

The CHHS baseball team named junior Will Jones as its Defensive Award winner and Jason Barron as its Offensive Award winner. Senior Jonathan Neeley picked up the Most Outstanding Player Award.

Cheerleading coach Michelle Armstrong will miss a large group of seniors off the cheerleading squad roster. This is a group that competed on the state and national level very successfully throughout their time at CHHS. Graduating seniors will be Emily Gaskin, Karri Graddy, Fran Renfroe, Andrea Domizio, Lauren Stone and Jennifer Hall.

The Golf team, which won first at sectionals will say goodbye to two seniors in Rory Murphy and Will Mills who led the team to the State Championship Tournament in Prattville to end the season.

After a season depending on its very young squad, the Tennis team loses two seniors in Emily Gaskin and Latofia Patterson. The Track team must say goodbye to James T. Davis and Alfonso Williams.

The Lady Trojans Softball team gave out it’s awards with the Leadoff and Infield award going to senior Emily Christian, while the Miss Clutch Award went to Amanda Pruitt. Nicki Wingard and Kelly Miller both picked up the Most Improved Award and Ashley Faust got the Most Dependable Award. Finally the Joy Graham Award went to Christie Bradley and the Lady Trojan Award was given to Betsy White.

The night was finished with the Charles Henderson Booster Club presenting it "True Trojan Award’ to the top to student athletes at the school. This year’s award and $500 in scholarship money went to Aaron Roscoe and Lauren Stone.

Also, all seniors received their senior blankets on the night with the their individual names and their sports’ logo stenciled on it.
