Annie Liza Blair, 75, of Troy, died April 3, 2000 in Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., April 8 at Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Troy with pastor Bobby Cox Jr. presiding. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Orion. Harrison Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include daughters, Annie Pearl Blair, Sharon Williams both of Troy; sons, Samuel (Kandi) Blair of Ambridge, Pa., Ervin Blair of Troy; sister, Ellen (Perry) Carlise of Ambridge, Pa.; brothers, Jimmy Lee (Thomasina) McMillian of Bedford Heights, Ohio, Barry (Doretta) Garrett of Dayton, Ohio, James (Lillie) Gray of Dayton, Ohio, Eddie McMillian of Atlanta, Ga., Willie Frank Bristow of Kentucky; aunts, Lucille Collier, Lois McCullough both of Anderson, Ind.; uncle, Jim Henry Ford; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Floralbearers will be friends of the family.

She was born on Jan. 9, 1925 in Pike County to the late Jimmy and Maggie Lou Gibson McMillian. She was a cook. She attended Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Troy.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, April 7 and the body will lie-in-state one hour prior to service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8.

Irene Burney

Irene Burney, 83, of 132 Galloway Road in Brundidge died Saturday, April 1, 2000 at her residence.

Her funeral will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 8 at County Line Baptist Church in Brundidge with the Dr. O. L. Gamble presiding. Burial will follow at New Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Linwood. George F. Grubbs Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include sons, Nathaniel Blue Sr. of Lake Wales, Fla., Earnest Blue of Miami, Fla., and George Burney of Ft. Walton, Fla.; sister, Lillie Brewer of Brundidge; brothers-in-law, Wendell Scott of Troy, James Burney of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. Floralbearers will be granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1916 in Pike County to Lillo and Authur Liptrot. She attended the public schools of Pike County.

Samuel W. Fleming

Samuel W. Fleming, 87, of Pike Manor in Troy died Thursday, April 6, 2000 at Pike Manor Nursing Home.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 8 at Springfield Baptist Church with the Revs. John Emfinger and Chuck Blair presiding. Burial will follow at Springfield Cemetery in Brundidge. Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge is handling arrangements.

Survivors include wife, Lucille Fleming of Pike Manor; daughter Irvyll Woodall of Pike Road; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Martha) Fleming of Brundidge, James (Marie) Fleming of Brundidge, Paul (Jackie) Fleming of Brundidge; sisters, Gennie Mae Ellis of Brundidge, Ethel L. Graves of Phenix City; brother, Arthur L. Fleming of Ozark Nursing Home; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ben Fleming, Christen Fleming, Clay Fleming, Greg Fleming, Jade Fleming and Woody Woodall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 7 at Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to funeral service.

Felton C. Jones

Felton C. Jones, 83, of Troy died Wednesday, April 5, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, April 7 at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Revs. Otis Durrah and Terry Blair presiding. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy.

Survivors include wife, Jewel Eiland Jones of Troy; daughter, Mabel Jean Jones of Columbia, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Coggins, Jeffery Eiland, Johnny Eiland, Francis Hoffman, John Hoffman, and Denny Stallings.

Honorary pallbearers will be The John Teal Sunday School at Bush Memorial Baptist Church.

Charley Toney

Charley Toney, 95, of the McCluretown community died Saturday, April 1, 2000 at Crenshaw Baptist Hospital in Luverne.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8 at the Church of God in Christ in McCluretown with the Elder Paul Wingard presiding. Burial will follow at the Church of God in Christ Cemetery. George F. Grubbs Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include brother, Eddie Lee Toney of Troy; daughters, Annie K. Owen of Trenton, N.J., Bertha M. Tillery of Trenton, N.J., Willie Pearl Crawley of Troy; sons, Charlie D. Toney Jr. of Chicago, Will Toney of Maryland, Willie James Toney of Dothan, J. H. Toney of Montgomery; 91 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pattie Toney; daughters-in-law, Thelma and Catherine both of Chicago, Carolyn S. of Maryland, Louise of Troy; sons-in-law, Willie Lee Owen of Trenton, N.J., James Tillery of Trenton, N.J.; several others relatives and friends.

He was born on August 15, 1904 in Bullock County to Ed and Dora Toney. He was an employee of Troy State University for a number of years. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ since 1948.
