The CHHS Junior Varsity baseball team split a doubleheader at against Enterprise on Monday night. They dominated the first game, winning 7-0, but struggled to a loss of 9-8 the second game.

In the first game Justin Sims, with the help of exceptional defense, pitched a one-hitter to his record to 3-1 on the year. He did his part at the plate as well, driving in the first run of the game with a single.

Roderick Burden had a big game on offense going 2-for-3 with a single and a double, as did Jarvis Woods who went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

The second game was not quite as easy as the first. The Trojans had to use a number of pitchers with limited experience and not near as much success.

The Trojans started out hot jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and scored two on Clint Pugh’s double in the second to make it 6-1. Then Enterprise got hot.

The visitors blew up and scored seven runs in the third, leaving Charles Henderson answering with only one run making the score to 8-7 in favor of EHS.

Enterprise scored another run in the fourth, but Charles Henderson could only managed one more run on a sacrifice fly the rest of the way.

Enterprise went three-up, three-down at the top of the fifth, but CHHS could not tie it up before the end of the inning.

The junior varsity play next at home against Northview on Monday, March 20 in another two-game set with each game only five innings long.
