Harris has also been charged with the burglary of Circle S Restaurant in Goshen.

A television and telephone were taken in that Oct. 28, 1999 burglary. Those items were recovered from a Montgomery residence by members of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.

When Harris was located by deputies in Goshen, he had a 1989 Plymouth Sundance, which had been reportedly stolen from Montgomery two hours earlier, Thomas said.

Harris is being held in the Pike County Jail on a $70,000 bond. He has been charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree burglary and receiving stolen property, first degree.

Thomas praised the sheriff’s department for continuing efforts during the three-month investigation.

"The department was determined to solve these cases and continued to work long hours to bring these cases to a close," Thomas said.

He said "the community and county should feel better and have a sense of security again in their homes" as a result of his department’s efforts.
