To ensure the safety of the students at Pike County Elementary School, the Brundidge City Council passed as resolution at a previous meeting to have "One Way" signs placed at the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Elm Street.

During school hours traffic is only permitted to travel southward in the specified areas.

The council made its decision based on the concern for safety and a request from the Pike County Board of Education.

The signs were placed at the school Tuesday, and the "one way" flow of traffic is being enforced.

We commend the Brundidge City Council for taking into consideration the request of the Pike County Board of Education, and taking action to ensure the safety of the students who attend PCES.

Entities like these, who work together are the reason progress is made in Pike County.

Councils and boards often overlap in duties and responsibilities, but regardless of the issue they keep their eyes on what is important and beneficial for the county or cities they represent.

In the case of the "One Way" signs at Pike County Elementary School, the students’ safety was the issue, and both the Brundidge City Council and Pike County Board of Education made the placement of the signs a priority, and got things done.
