George Franklin Flowers

George Franklin Flowers, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000 at 8:30 p.m. at his home after an extended illness.

His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 21 at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ in Brundidge with the Minister Doug Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Skeen Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include wife, Bernice Wesley Flowers; son, Joe Franklin Flowers and his wife Lynda of Dothan; daughter, Becky Flowers Sanders and her husband Harry of Brundidge; grandchildren, Sabrina J. Flowers; Samantha A. Flowers; Jared H. Sanders; Andy J. Sanders; Caleb J. Sanders; sister, Hazel Flowers Adkins of Brundidge; and sister-in-law, Hazel Spivey Flowers of Dothan.

Pallbearers will be Andy Sanders, Jared Sanders, Kenneth Flowers, Charlie Senn, Charles Senn, Caleb Sanders, Brian Davis, and Chan Senn.

Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Wheeler.

He was a lifelong resident of Brundidge. He was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Flowers of Brundidge and his parents, Joe Lee and Bonzie B. Flowers of Brundidge.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at Skeen Funeral Home in Brundidge. He will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes prior to the service.

Ruth J. Stone

Ruth J. Stone, 76, of Oakview Manor in Ozark died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000 at Vernon Hospital in Atlanta.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. J. C. Turner and Jackie Downing presiding. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church in the New Hope Community. Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge is handling arrangements.

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Tolbert and Cindy Stone of Elba; grandchildren, Amanda, Candace and Daniel Stone; sisters, Duna Pearl Adams of Samson; Merle Downinng of Jack; Betty Foley of Jack; brothers, John David Allen of Jack; Austin Jacobs of Two Rivers, Wis.; sister-in-law, Grace Jacobs of Ozark; several nieces, nephews and other close relatives.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 21 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
