Ruth Rhodes

Ruth Rhodes, 80, of Troy died Monday, October 18, 1999.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 1999, at Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery at Shellhorn with Minister Jimmy Mathews officiating and Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Rhodes and son, Richard W. Rhodes.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold and Gail Rhodes of Troy; William and Olivia Rhodes of Hope Hull; two sisters, Julia Bess Durden of Dublin; Mary Knighten of Troy; two brothers, Fred Walters of Troy; Joe Walters of Ansley; six grandchildren, Richie Rhodes, Tanya Betzold, Mike Rhodes, Marla Johnson, Ellen Rhodes, Elizabeth Bowman; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 1999, at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Era Jane Spicer

Era Jane Spicer, 93, of Troy died Monday, October 18, 1999 at Pike Manor Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Dallas Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Herman Sr. and Lois H. Donaldson of Dothan; Rex L. Donaldson of Brundidge; William C. and Shirley Donaldson of Brundidge; James P. Donaldson of Dothan; Joe T. and Karen Donaldson of Troy; sister, Lois McDermott of Dothan; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 1999, at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Stephanie Sarandis Sutton

Stephanie Sarandis Sutton, 52, of Macon, Georgia, died Monday, October 18, 1999, at her residence.

Private service will be held on Thursday for the family at Holy Cross Orthodox Green Church followed by a service for family and friends at 1 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Father Michael Vastakis, the Rev. Robert Gibson and the Rev. Joseph McDaniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, entering through the main gate.

Sutton, a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, was a graduate of Warner Robins High School and had lived in Macon since 1964. She was a graduate of the Macon Hospital School of Nursing and received a B.S. degree from Georgia College. She was a registered nurse and patient education coordinator retired from the Medical Center of Central Georgia. She was a member of Sigma Theata Tau Honor Society, the American Nurses Association and Central Georgia Oncology Nurses Interest Group. She was a member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Derek Ellis of Chipley, Fla.; son, Shawn Christopher Sutton of Musella; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William S. Sarandis of Warner Robins; sister, Sandra S. Hoffman of Mobile; brother, William S. Sarandis Jr. of Stone Mountain; two nephews; one niece; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Spyros Dermatas, Mike Long, Larry E. Harn and Tommy Greene.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4408, Macon, Ga. 31208 or to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 3269 Bloomfield Drive, Macon, Ga. 31206.

The family will be at residence, 3708 Avon Road, Macon, Ga. 31204. A Trisagion service and visitation will be from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street.
