To Mrs. "H" we will miss you so much. Thanks for all you have done for my daughter! You know that if you ever need anything all you have to do is ask.

Thanks,
The Cake Lady (you know who I am)

On GHS coach relocates

I am a parent that pulled my child out of GES to homeschool. There are more problems at that school than have been stated in this forum, they have not been worked on and will not as long as the same people run it. These problem need to be addressed from a State level and get it out of this backroom politics that runs the education systems of this county.

BUT this artical was about the drop out rate, which is a crying shame when it is not only the "troubled" kids that are dropping out. I know of three very well behaved children (and yes they are still children in high school) that have dropped out of GHS, because of the lack of concern for the child and the teachers think they are "God" and nothing they do or say could be harmful to a child. (And before anyone says that I do not know what I am talking about, I have heard from the mouth of one teacher to a student "The best thing you could do is drop out and get a job that is all you are good for anyway". Yes I did have a few words with this teacher.") If you had more teacher that cared in the schools then hmmmmm maybe the drop out rate would go down.

This sending kids to ALC is really funny here in Goshen, kids are sent there for the funniest reasons, but NO one questions the actions of the leaders of the school. ALC needs to be cut out and the problems handle the old fashion way. If this "program" was cut out that would be a lot of money that could be used else where in the school system. BUT no lets send the kids that dropped a piece of paper on the ground to ALC. (Yes, it did happen.)

Every child should have a chance to an education. So teachers before you put a child down walk in their shoes for a while. You may have a few blisters on your feet, but you may also have a better insight of what a child lives with every day of their young life.

Hmmmmmmm if 40,000 people die of this each year, wouldn't it be nice to know where this young lady has been so those that have been in contact with her could at least have a chance to not become one of the 40,000?????????

I have children and parents that I would hate to see get sick or even die due to some HIPPA LAW. The law does not say anything about giving information to public to keep them safe. We do not need to know her name or any of her personal information, just where the heck she has been.

AND yes this could be nothing more than the common flu, but tell that to the parents of the child that has died here in the U.S!!!!!

On University student possibly has swine flu

Okay, if is illegal to not allow absentee ballots, then why is it not illegal to allow a canidate to go out and "pick up" absentee ballots? It was reported that Mrs. Berry went to people's homes to "pick up" ballots, wouldn't anyone with half a brain think something was wrong with that?

If they are allowed to "pick up" ballots then why is in illegal for a canidate to be within so many feet or yards from polling places?????

Things happened that should not have happened in this race and they need to be looked into.

I do have a question though, Who is sitting in this Commissioner's seat at the moment?

All I am saying is let us revote on this issue.

I do think that Mrs. Berry has been caught this time. She has done other things in past elections that she should have been called on the carpet for. (Like telling someone the job at with the BOE was their's if they voted for her.) BUT yet again, the ways of Pike County has to do with who you know or related to as to where you are on the totem pole.

There is one way to settle this once and for all, REVOTE! With NO absentee ballots. This would have cost less and would have been over by now! BUT no lets drag it out for as long as they can and lets see how much money can be spent over this issue.

Hope Haynes gets the bid, maybe they can get to someone in need in the Goshen area. Last year had to call for help with a family memeber and after 30 minutes of waiting we took her to the hospital ourself. Care Ambulance did not show up until after an hour of us leaving, so that was a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes from time of the call. (Oh and this was after giving turn by turn direction to a person at Care. It should have taken them 20 minutes at tops to get here.)

I also live in the district in question, but I do believe that if Mr. Fannin has proof of something then he has a right to be heard in court. As being childish, this is not childish at all. Anyone that lives in this district will tell you (well if they are honest) that to get anywhere in politics, get jobs, or have a voice in the schools you have to be family of, married to or best friends to the big wheels. It is time for change, but to do that you will have to fight for what is right. So, Mr. Fannin go for it and try to make some change!
