Poorly worded. It does sound like the victim is the ADA's girlfriend.

Lots and lots of sour grapes. Some people aren't happy unless they have something to be unhappy about. Here's a prediction-Wes will do such a good job that he will be easily reelected in three years. My prediction is just as valid as those who say Wes doesn't have a chance.

Dang. Randy actually makes sense.

Wes has Pike County ties, Mr. Lunsford. Just because he was not born here does not mean that Pike County is not his home. Wes is more than capable of doing a terrific job as Probate Judge. Between all the candidates for the job, I would have chosen Wes, also.

My money would be on Wes Allen.

I like the fainting goat. I also like the donkies. They are very funny along with the monkies. Spot's afraid of tigers, lions and ligers. I like bears.

Troll, I strongly disagree with your contention that Troy doesn't need the Miracle Field. I wanted to make sure everyone was aware that Senator Mitchell's donation was taxpayer money, but in no way did I mean to say that it is not a worthwhile cause. There are a great number of children who would benefit from the Miracle Field. I will admit that I don't have any concrete numbers, but I have been involved with youth athletics in Troy for a long time-baseball more than any other. I have also taught Sunday School, my wife is a teacher and I have a young son. My point is that I have been around children in this community for a while now-about 11 years. I have met enough parents and their kids to know that Troy needs this. I encourage everyone to donate to this cause.

As a preface, if this money came directly out of Senator Mitchell's pocket, then he has my sincere thanks. However, I don't think this is the case. This "gift" is from the taxpayers. I think the Miracle Field is a good thing, but let's be clear as to where the money came from. It came from you and me. How hard is to be gracious with someone else's money?

Showdown,
There is a difference between forgiveness and punishment. I certainly would be the first to forgive any wrongdoer who asks for forgiveness. Christian forgiveness does not mean lack of punishment. If no one was ever punished for crimes anarchy would result. My belief is that God wants us to have an ordered society without criminals running rampant.

troyufan-Let it go already. Wes worked here, built a house here and had his chidren in school here long before he was appointed probate judge. Good grief.
On Probate clerk takes office
