I know Bart personally and he is a good coach. I'm really happy for him, he is finally getting his chance as head coach. I just can't believe it took this long. Hopefully it will be more than just an interim position. Good luck Coach Snyder!!!

The police, firemen, paramedics, correction officers, all do a job that is risky and hard. They do it because it takes a certain kind of person to do the job. Why can't we get all of these people a raise to show our appreciation to them? And there should be no such thing as a volunteer fireman, they deserve to be paid too. They get up in all hours of the night to fight a fire and risk their lives for free! My hat goes off to these guys. It's so easy for a politican to get a raise to do nothing but make decisions. Why not make it easy for the people who serve and protect us?

I agree with beingrealistic, there's a big difference in a car and jail. Pike County does need a new jail, not for the prisoner's sake but for the officers that have to work in it. I feel sorry for the officers that work there because I hear all the complaints from them, and from what else I've heard, a new supervisor over the jail would be nice too.

Since everyone seems to be against our current coroner, why don't one of you run for the job. How would you like to get paid only $400 a year to look at dead bodies to announce them dead. It should be a full time job with decent pay and benefits. My hat goes off Mr. Williams for putting up with it for 24 years. And deerhunter 05, the only joke I see is your grammar.

So the county commissioners get free health insurance? For basically meeting twice a month? And they seem to get a pay raise often too. Then why in the heck are they trying to take away the pay raise for the county employees? How is this fair at all? The county employees are the ones who do all the work in the county. County commissioners seem to make as much as a full-time employee. And now with this new information shared, getting insurance and retirement? Come on, someone please tell me how this is fair? The county employees deserve the little pay raise they get and it should not be taken away from them at the commissioners' say so.
