If he/she is a student, then why are they on the troy messenger comment boards all day instead of in class?

Please tell me you are not seriosly trying to argue that PLAS has any academic standing at all. The teachers are not required to be certified, their curriculums are a joke. Even the parents will tell you that they realize their kids are getting a substandard education. Come on, you can say a lot of things about PLAS but comparing their educational credentials to CHHS which boasts at least one IVY league every 3 or 4 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship money every year is insane. Neither CHHS or PLAS is Harvard but to say PLAS even stands in the same ballpark with CHHS academically is ridiculous. People send their children their for, among other reasons, it is easy. I have a neighbor who transferred her son from CHHS where he was a C student with the occassional D and at PLAS, he was magically a B student with more than the occassional A. The reason - it was easier at Pike Lib than at CHHS.

Can you really call yourself Champions if you eliminate the ability for most of the real athletes (i.e. the black kids) to compete against you? That is like saying you are valedictorian of the special ed class. Being the smartest kid in special ed is like winning the private school championship. You coldnt compete against teams with African American Athletes. After all, when is the last time someone from Pike Lib went to any legit school on an athletic scholarship. The answer - never.

jkelly - I am with you. Hawkings should make his campaign slogan for Governor - "Getting to the Governor's Mansion on the backs of the taxpayers of Troy"

Here is a link that shows that the Africa story regarding Palin was a hoax

White_Lightning. . . please do your research before you begin to blast away rhetoric as if it was fact. Sarah Palin never said Africa was a country instead oa continent. This was an untrue story that was aired and then on every major news report, the story was retracted because it was not true and was a hoax perpetutated by someone who was not even a member of the campaign and had never met her. The video that is on YouTube that says it is Sarah Palin saying Africa is a country, not a continent is actually from a Saturday Night Live skit and it is Tina Fey not Sarah Palin. Please dont confuse your valid news for a skit on SNL. That is just sad.

I don't understand why the leaders of the County GOP have let this go on. There were multiple accounts of Berry doing questionable things during the election and they were even posted here on these message boards but the County GOP did nothing to step in and correct her actions. I am extremely disappointed by all of this. Berry, a former Democrat turned Republican, doesn't represent what I consider to be GOP values with her questionable nursing home ballot practices even if those practices were not illegal. Why didn't Adan Drinkwater or Earl Ellis or some of the other GOP leaders in this town step up and put a stop to all of this. Besides, I think there needs to be a change in the party as a whole around here. The party was run much better when people that cared about GOP values where active in the local party. I know a few GOP members in this town that I would like to see get back into politics and stop some of this mess that is going on.

I think this is a good idea but parents need to be held accountable. There are too many 16 year olds driving around in sports cars and going way too fast up and down George Wallace Drive. It is time for parents to take accountability and enforce some rules on their children.

How many of those votes for Berry were from people she took ballots to at the nursing home?
