Hang in there Zac--we are all pulling for you. You have made us proud both on and off the football field.

Coach Fountain will be just fine---stable programs are hard to find. Once you start changing all the time you usually end up with a mess. CHHS makes playoffs often, played well in playoffs a couple years back-beat Vigor and played St. Paul's as close as anyone, both on the road. I think he is a great influence as well as a good coach. Just my opinion.........

Well said Ramsey--I agree--a big part of PJ job is knowing the "lay of the land"--reminds me of a Birmingham friend of mine who bought a funeral home out in rural north Alabama, he said if you received a call that Mama died and you had to ask who is Mama? where does she live? you are in trouble from the get go--some of the PJ job is similar--I am sure that Donna would have been a very valuable asset but maybe the others will help speed up the learning curve--I hope all goes well-- --good luck to all!

I do not have a dog in the Hawkins family "stuff"--I do not have an opinion one way or the other--but I would argue that much more benefit comes from the University than just students--local hotels live off the college bringing in parents, coaches, prospective students, visiting lecturers, to attend band camps, football camps, boys/girls state, graduation weekends, new student orientations, on and on--just ask the hotel operators why we see the growth of hotels in Troy--apartments are full of students who must pay their rent, electricity, groceries, car repairs, etc--Pike County residents do their share but to say growth is not somewhat tied to growth of college is ridiculous. I think most University students pay their bills about as well as the rest of Pike County--not sure why the animosity toward the college and its students--I have met many wonderful students in my lifetime in Troy and am very proud to have them here.

I do not remember ESJC not being ESJC until it became EOCC--doesn't really matter though--any state supported institution could be referred to as state, Auburn chooses not to be, South AL chooses not to be--Jax State does continue to carry State in title as far as I know--Florence State became UNA--Livingston State became UWA--Memphis State became Univ of Memphis-just to name a few--Kent State dropped state and then added it back years later-not sure if a "conspiracy" or "selfish motives" or whatever existed at all of these or not.

P.S.--What is the growth rate of Troy relative to Enterprise, Ozark, Eufaula and Dothan?? I would be interested in knowing the rate and how it breaks down in each sector--anyone know the real numbers??

Enterprise State did drop the State--it is EOCC--would everyone be happier if the University dropped Troy and kept State--makes no sense to me--seems to give more recognition to Troy and less to state--what is the problem there?? You guys rip the stadium and who said what to whom, just travel to all the schools CHHS play and see what they have--Troy's seems like a better setup for players, cheerleaders and fans than most other places, including Enterprise Bill Bacon Stadium before the tornadoes ripped it--and before you answer, make sure you have traveled to those places five times a year for years. I do not support any individuals, just the city and its citizens.

Eufaula and Ozark are really booming--hehe!!! Eufaula has a lake and Ozark has home of Army aviation and neither city can touch the growth of or services provided by City of Troy--do not know if Troy University had much to do with it or not but would not think it hurt any. Maybe some posters did not get their "piece of the pie"--like most things, your view depends on where you are standing. Maybe Eufaula would be better if they drain the lake, Ozark if Army aviation moved and Troy if University shut down--would all be better off??--or worse??? I hope we don't have to find out.
