I heard a lady (I've never seen her before in my life) speaking to others about this on Saturday. After listening to her and all that she said about this man of God, I can honestly say he is following the call on his life.

From what she said about how he feels about lost souls and the passion he has to reach them; God is about to allow him to do just that. When you have the kind of passion she says this man has to reach souls; Evangelism is your passion. It's hard to Evangelize if you're committed to the pulpit as a Pastor. Evangelism is nothing more than outreach...street ministry...missionary ministry...get out and go get them ministry. From what I overheard this weekend, Bro Bo is being called to Evangelize in this season of his life. Wow!

He (as well as his family) will certainly need our prayers to cover him. Evangelist come across all kinds of spirits out there. They are attacked (naturally and spiritually) while seeking out lost souls and bringing them back to the house of God. I think it's a beautiful thing to have a heart for people (souls) as Evangelists do!

I don't know you Bro Bo, but I applaud your obedience to the call of God on your life!

I'm not sure how many people have been speaking from experience...SO, I'll be the first!

I have been on welfare before and I just moved back in "The Projects". I stayed on welfare for about 6 months. I can't remember exactly how much I was getting but it wasn't much.

Everyone who gets welfare don't stay on welfare. Everyone who lives in the projects are not lazy people and want to live there forever! I lived in the projects once before I moved back in this last time. I tried moving out of the projects before I was really ready. I had bills I didn't have in the projects when I moved out that I wasn't ready for so I had to move back in - start over - get back on my feet - and try it again. TRUST me, I'm NOT there to stay this time either.

Some people always want to look down and throw stones on the poor working class or even just the poor and have not once thought about what it is we go through. I can honestly say, that there are those who just want a free ride but that doesn't include everybody.

"The poor ought to pay the most in taxes...they use government more than others. Food stamps, welfare checks, free housing, free public education, free lunch, free day care, WIC vouchers, free medical care at hospitals, free room and board in colleges and prisons, even free burial. When the poor try to help themselves by not having children they cannot afford they may qualify for sympathy."

THAT is the most ridiculous statement I've ever read on this board. But I'm going to leave it alone.

Just know from someone who have been there and done that...We all don't get government assistance and abuse it. Some of us actually use it to move forward. All those years ago, I used it to help me after I decided to keep my son when I found out I was pregnant. I could've aborted him...I could've given him up for adoption...I even could've had him in threw him away. Of course if I had gone with one of these other choices, I'm pretty sure something would be said about that as well from someone like the person who left that ridiculous response.I had to do something quick, fast and in a hurry because it was not about me anymore. I had a child to take care of and at the time I needed the help. I enrolled for the welfare to work program (I don't think it was mandatory at the time - I don't remember) and I was placed on a job I didn't like but I went to work. At the time I would've picked up cow dunks if I had to in order to take care of my son.

Now, I have a good job, a car (I need another one - help Lord!), and I STILL live in the projects. But you better believe I will not be there long. I will be a homeowner some day and I just pray that I don't forget where I came from because I know one day I will be in the position to help families in need so they won't have to be frowned upon from people like the person who wrote that comment above.

Being that TPD has been doing a terrific job in apprehending criminals and putting them in jail; I wonder if the victims have family and/or friends in the Pike County Jail. Maybe these three can be put in a cell with one or two of them....hmmmmmmm

Yes, I know, turtle. I was only throwing out ideas to scenerios. I think we all agree but with different views.

I am NOT blaming anyone. Should I look at your "maybe this or maybe that" comment as being judgemental and not having an open mind? So lets take a look at your logic in your comment which will further be cause for more cautious measures...shall we?

"Maybe the employees did it by the book,as turtle said these guys could have been watching the place for weeks,or maybe a family member knew this lady took the money to the bank at a certain time and slipped up and told a friend etc.etc."

The only way someone will know the time employees make bank drops is by employees TALKING TOO MUCH! Therefore; I would be not too bright to share that type of information with anyone...not even a family member because it could come up in a casual conversation...small talk...anything. As far as watching the store for weeks...I mentioned that except I worded it different than you - I said "case/casing" the store. Thus my comment for not making it routine as far as time and/or person.

Clearly, my post were suggestions about how we as employees can help alleviate this type of occurrances. Why you took it as me blaming someone without knowing the facts? I don't know because THAT is certainly NOT what I was doing. I was only throwing out suggestions.

Now that I look back at my post, maybe the part where I said "Well, store procedures should be held accountable for this as well". That statement is in response to turtle's comment (which you agreed with) about how they may have known who she was and that she was going to make a deposit.

Well, I don't know if any of us will ever know why these things happen. You may not care how it happened, but I certainly would like to know how it happened and how we as a society can help each other in TRYING to strengthen safety policy and procedures. People's lives are at stake and we should do ALL that we can to cover ourselves.

I don't know if there are teams of experts who are assigned to cases like these who advise store owners about scenerios that have taken place and what EXTRA precautians they can take concerning robberies (armed/unarmed). The only facts needed for that is the fact that it happened.

Maybe I worded it the wrong way for you but I didn't mean it the way you took it.

Well, store procedures should be held accountable for this as well. I have seen first hand a few establishments who have their employees doing bank drops and no one would even know it (OUTSIDE of the employees. And I did say "employees"...plural). As far as a bank bag..you wouldn't even be able to notice they had one.

Bank drops should not be routine as far as time and person. I have walked in a store and witnessed an employee making up deposit slips, and everything needed to make a deposit. That's crazy. Why would you do that in plain view of customers who, from the looks of this article and maybe others, may be casing the store.

These people are crazy and seem to be going to grave lengths to take what doesn't belong to them. We have to be EXTRA cautious and not "advertise". This should be in the training manual/program for every new employee and regular updates should be made.

"Woods is alleged to have approached the clerk as she was walking to her car to take a deposit to the bank and demanded money from her at gunpoint."

How in the world did they know she was taking a deposit to the bank? How did they know she even worked in the store? Hmmm...

["Because the money was available so let's spend it" Alabama mentality.]

It really amazes me how this city is ALWAYS talking about "our kids this...our kids that"...a city that ALWAYS say that the well being of our kids are top priority.

"The project will require a $20,000 match from the city of Troy..."

I can't believe this city would actually come up with money for a walking trail that may or may not be used on a regular basis, on the same property that has an inside track for walking and don't take the time out to complete an application for a Safe Routes to School program for our kids to walk and bike to school. WHICH, might I add, required NO MATCHING MONEY. IT'S 100% FUNDED!

Yeah, that was smart!
