The point that I made earlier is that there have always been guns in this society. Reducing the amount of guns will not reduce the amount of people willing to commit crimes. I say we figure out why they are doing it more now then they used to and try to go back to what worked in the past.

Fox, I agree with you that there is way too much crime in this country. I just think that we should try to create a society that doesn't create the criminal in the first place. If we banned everyone from owning a gun, a criminal would still get his hands on one. Or he would just stab his victims with a knife or other weapon. Do you have any stats that show crime rates from 50 or 100 years ago? I bet that they are a lot lower. The Second Amendment was around then just like today. We really should be addressing the cause for the rise in crime here in the U.S. over the past half century, not blaming the Second Amendment. I spent 5 years in a police car, in three different cities. The areas that have the highest crime rates in a city are the areas where people are the most dependent on government for their basic needs. Lets try to get our citizens to be more self reliant and maybe they will have the self worth to pursue a productive life in a civil society instead of devaluing a person's life and property to the point where crime becomes an acceptable means of behavior. It is clear that you have a bias against this country and what it stands for. Do you really hate this country as much as you seem to? And, if you do, why are you here? FoX, I admire you ability to articulate your views. I just wish your were as compassionate about the actual cause of crime as your are about not wanting me to own a gun.

FoX, the Second Amendment is the only one of the Bill of Rights that actually provides a reason for its existence. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". Maybe I'm just a hillbilly, but it sounds to me that A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State is the reason that the founders agreed upon. But I guess they were "backwards hillbilly rednecks" too. So, that puts me in good company.

While the Second Amendment grants us the right to keep and bear arms, it does not say a person should murder another person. Besides, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), there were 820,151 legal induced abortions in the US in 2005. It would seem to most that it is more ignorant (or worse) to be so concerned about 10,000 murders by one means and support 820,151 murders by another. Your not fooling me with your phony compassion.

FoX, I couldn't agree with you more on this. If we do away with the Second Amendment, there will never be stories of crimes being thwarted by victims that are armed with guns. Sounds like we need to start arming law abiding people instead of only criminals.

Hey guys, I'm with you on this. Ditto to all of the good comments about Bro Bo. I'm just asking why this made the paper? I've never seen a news article written in a paper about a pastor leaving a church. I've heard of several pastors leaving different churches in Troy but never read about it in the paper. I wasn't trying to offend anyone.

That comment is not very intelligent and was in poor taste.
