This is a fascinating story and I appreciate the continued attention from the Messenger. I'd hope that Mayor Rammage will eventually comment and hope that the city will find someone to run against Griffin if, in fact, he cannot be removed from office for this absurd behavior.

Not a single mention of her positions on any of the issues that come before the court. Just that she handles a lot of cases. Wow. Great platform.

This is less of a news story and more of a trial transcript. I sure would like to read a story that synthesizes the facts into a coherent narrative and includes some sort of upshot about what is going to happen to Griffin now that he has been convicted on the heels of this horrific series of events.

We should thank those veterans that went overseas to ensure us freedom by preventing our nation from being invaded by Vietnam and Iraq. Had those countries invaded our shores, we would have a totally different kind of government and probably not even be free to use the Internet.

If you're concerned about this sort of thing, there's a non-profit in Montgomery that is working on Alabama's tax and budget unfairness to the poor. They are leading the charge to get the regressive sales tax off of groceries and it might even happen this legislative session if enough people get active about it. I suggest taking a look at arisecitizens.org for more info about Alabama's imbalanced tax system.

Stay away from drugs or else you can't play college football. What a good message. Except for the girls in the audience. And the slow boys. And the small ones. And the ones who don't really like sports. And the ones who don't want to play because they know about concussions and brain damage. But other than that, the tiny group who want to play college sports without having even tried high school yet ... they ought to be really inspired to avoid drugs (except for soft drinks and coffee).

This is some good writing. Maybe they should have gotten one or two more quotes from the mayor saying that he hopes people spend money. An outstanding analysis of the local economy.

It is good that they have put this government mind control formula on hold. First they wanted to let the president speak to the students during class. Now they want to inject them with drugs. This is clearly part of the Liberal Master Plan.

He was a great DA. He stepped in because there was corruption in the DA's office (corruption that was simply relocated to the federal bench) and not only sacrificed power and prestige to do the right thing, but he made a difference in a couple of counties that really needed it. He'll be missed greatly. Hope he'll let us know what book he's working on. Here's hoping that the next DA is a model of integrity and honesty as was Judge McAliley.
