They act like this decision had to be made on short notice. Like we haven't been discussing it for several months now. We all knew the contract was about to expire. Why wait until the last minute to put the bids out and to award bids. Doesn't make sense, except, like everything else, we wait until there is no choice before doing something. I for one am disappointed. WDM, I do attend the meetings and you are right, very few people are there. I expressed my opinions to my county commissioner, my city councilman, the E-911 board, to Care Ambulance, to my mayor and anyone else who would listen. I am praying hard that I don't have another experience with Care like the last two. This is such crap - why are we even paying them anyway? For $6800 per month, I could rent a limo and transport people. Same quality of care that I'm getting now - and better response time.

Henderson_Hillibilly - how is it fair for an elderly person who lives on a fixed income to pay the same amount of sales tax as a millionaire? Basic necessities should not be taxed. People need food to live. Yes, if you are going out and buying beer with your check you should pay the same amount as Bill Gates, but food? Give me a break.

The Salvation Army Store is located at 509 South Brundidge Street. It is clearly marked - it is between Expert Tire & Jones Medical Supply. This is a wonderful organization and does so much for the community.
DHR is at 717 South Three Notch Street

I am thankful that tomorrow isTuesday and all of this will be over soon. It has been a CRAZY political season. If everyone in this state got as excited about REAL ISSUES as they do about politics and football, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now. Whatever happens tomorrow, let's continue to care about what these people do as much as we do now. Let's continue to hold them accountable for their actions. We don't need to just say, "well you're elected, do whatever you want to now." We have serious issues and we need serious answers, not just bandaids on the problem. Good luck to all of the candidates.

The article did not reference the Mayor being there. What makes you think he was there?
