I saw a haint once when I was a child. They're scared off by a certain color of blue called "haint" blue.

This is wonderful news indeed. This will have a tremendous impact on the casual fanbase out there and will help Troy in the future to increase attendance at home games now that an SEC member school is making its way to Pike County. Hats off to the Mississippi State athletic director for having the guts to come to Troy even after two previous Big XII teams have come in here and got embarrassed on national television.

McKelvin is a star. He won the Rookie of the week award in the NFL back in November and is a key element in Buffalo's success. Lawrence Tynes is definitely a star - how could he not be???

Have you forgotten about Leodis McKelvin (1st Round Draft pick '08), Sherrod Martin (2nd Round Draft pick '09). Elbert Mack is on the verge of starting this season for Tampa Bay at cornerback. Lawrence Tynes with the Giants was New York's hero two seasons ago. Why did you leave those players out? Brandon Lang at Troy right now, will likely be a 1st round NFL pick this coming spring. It sounds like you follow Alabama more closely than you do Troy (which is a shame).

USM is and has been ducking coming to Troy since 2001. I know the entire scoop on that issue. They might play Nebraska, Cal, and other similar programs, but so does Troy. Troy's non-conference schedule is always much tougher than USM's - look no further than this season.

TideFan, USM does not have "way better athletes" than Troy. Troy has put many more high-profile players in the NFL recently than USM has. Your Deandre Brown statement is a bit silly as well. You don't follow college football very closely do you?

Southern Miss won't play Troy in home-and-home series. USM said a few years ago that they possibly would be interested in playing a game in either Hattiesburg or Mobile, but they would not come to Troy. Steve Dennis was hoping to meet with USM officials in New Orleans back in December to get this talk started again, but the USM folks were not interested. So, don't blame it on Troy. The Trojans will play anyone, anytime, anywhere (unlike USM who has falsely made that claim over the last several years).

Troy had a better team than Southern Miss last season, but obviously couldn't put the game away when they should have in the fourth quarter. USM has a nice program, but Troy is quickly catching up to USM and probably has more upside than the Golden Eagles' program to be quite honest. Troy has gotten to where we currently are faster than USM has. And as far as national exposure. I guarantee you that college football fans know who Troy is just as much as they know who USM is. Troy gets a ton of coverage from the national media that is as good as any so-called Mid-Major program out there. Sounds to me like a lot of USM fans are jealous that Troy is donig so well so soon. You also better worry about South Alabama right there in your own backyard who is also on the verge of stealing a lot of your thunder.

TU08, why don't you move to Pine Log or Jack where nothing exciting ever happens?
