Not saying that this exhibit would not be good to see. But Why not support our local zoo(McClelland's Critters)? They have all those creatures and more.

Stop being stupid. All flu virus have similar effects. If you are elderly, real young, have a weak immune system you need to be careful. We loose roughly 40,000 people a year to the more common FLU virus'. This bug is a little different in shape (when viewing under the microscope). It just happened to mutate from a pig strain of the flu. Hence the name. Yes if your sick stay home, wash your hands, ect.. Use common sense when around someone that is sick.
And the young lady who HAD, repeat HAD, the flu is fine. No one needs to know her name, classes ect. Not unless you want to pay out $250,000 in fines (HIPPA LAW FINE). So as a University/State of AL I think they did a okay job on this press release. It should make you aware that it is around and for anyone that does get sick to take precautions.

I feel bad for the young child. I also feel bad that Mr. McClelland had to indure watching an animal of his hurt the child. I am sure, as an animal owner myself, I would be mortified if one of mine were to hurt someone.
Now I don't know the whole story but it sounds like a huge accident.(an Accident is when both parties are at fault). I am sure we all would wonder what actually happened. I am sure the child will have a scar and will never forget about it because the family WILL KEEP REMINDING HIM OF IT(1 year olds wont remember). I know Mr. McClelland will never forget what happened. If he was like me it would play the incident in his head everytime he thought of it.
So what should happen, in my opinion, Mr McClelland should pay something to the family for medical bills only. Hopefully he is insured(which most zoo's are). I would then not allow that family back on the property. Sounds funny, but if you got injuried on my property in that manner and then sued me, I would not want the possibility of you doing it twice.
The family should just deal with the child's possible mental issues from this. Most/If any issues will come when the family keeps reminding him of what happened. Remember in an accident both parties are at fault. Being a father of 2 I know you shouldnt allow a 1 yr old a nano-second to get away from you.
This lawsuit should never reach the courts. It's a waste of time, and tax payer money. The only one that will benefit from any of this will be the lawyers. Hopefully both side can come to an agreement and things will turn out okay.

I think we as a nation/world need to be aware of what we can cause to our "enviroment"(which is different for every area of this great nation),and educate ourselves on what we can do to lessen an impact on our enviroment. I foreone love our enviroment here in AL. I do my part, my garbage goes in the can, I dont water my lawn on rainy days, I even recycle cans/plastic. As far a this "global warming" there is no such thing. The earth goes through cycles, Thats been proven throughout history.
If switching to a more eviroment friendly vehicle is going to happen. The sooner the better. If we can get away from foreign oil sooner, thats better too. I think 1,300 or even 6,000 more bucks when it comes to a vehicle won't hurt as long as their claims of gas saving/emissions reducing turn out to be true.
I do however beleive that the state goverments need to take back control of their respective states and the federal gov't should only be there to assist the states when needed and in National defense.Hmmm sounds like the orignal plan set down by the founding fathers......
On Obama plan less expensive
