FoX....
How absolutely arrogant and self centered you are when you say things like.......
"Did you not read my post."
You give the impression like you always do.......that YOUR word must be accepted as THE answer to everything and there is no room for someone else's opinion.
You are so far gone with your "me me me" attitude there is no hope for you to ever gain any acceptable social or people skills at all. How you even survive daily life with the attitude you have is beyond me.
You're right about the government not "forcing religion". Yet they "forced" those that wanted to say a prayer to cease and desist.
Have you ever been out of this country traveling at all? Or have you not ever been out of Alabama? I doubt it....because all of your info is from google and not from personal experience. If you traveled...you would "learn" a lot more and absorb knowledge from the rest of the world.
Some day you will be confronted socially or in the business world where people are going to chew you up and spit you out and you will not even see it coming until it's too late. It will be from a much more experienced and a much more mature group of people. You're not going to know what hit you...and you won't be able to handle the fact that there really are many people in this world a LOT smarter than you.
Quoting you again....
"How does that saying go, something like, 'A smart person learns from his mistakes. A wise person learns from other people’s mistakes'. "
You'll never learn because in your own mind....you never make mistakes....nor do you ever learn from anyone else because according to you....YOU know everything and everyone else is wrong.
That is truly sad and I honestly feel sorry for you. I will also exercise my God given right and publically state that I will pray for you.

I have never gotten a ticket...but last year I thought my luck had run out.
I was coming back from Dothan after visiting my mother in a Hospice facility. I did not even realize how fast I was going because I just wanted to get back home.
Lo and behold I saw lights in my rear view mirror. I pulled over and the officer came to my window. He said "do you know how fast you were going?"
I said..."no sir not exactly but I have a funny feeling you're gonna tell me!"
He laughed. Then told me I was going 82. I said..."Officer if you say I was going 82 then I was going 82."
I apologized for speeding......he smiled and told tme to slow it down. I thanked him and i was on my way.

You're right OldSchoolPike3Worker
If the urge is there for a person to commit a crime...they will get the weapon of choice despite what the regulations and laws state.
I think a lot goes back to basic parenting. We cannot spank our kids.....and for many it's a lot easier to say "yes" than it is to be consistent and say "no".
In essence we have taken away the type of parenting that kids now a days should have and need.
Mothers have children that all have different fathers....many parents work because they need to support their family....so there are a lot of latch key kids. Parents are too tired when they get home to spend quality time with their kids. The kids are influenced by others to be "cool"...and peer pressure is very strong. No kid wants to be labeled as a "sissy"....and popularity is the name of the game and number one and in front of any morals or academics.
Parents let their kids out on school nights and don't know what they are doing...where they are going and exactly who they are with.
Kids wear $300.00 sneakers so they can look "cool" in front of their friends....because the parents will do anything to keep the kids happy perhaps out of guilt for not always being there for them....or because they just don't want to say "no".
A lot of times the parents themselves are not the best role model either and deal and take drugs.
Teachers are just that "teachers". At times they are considered babysitters for parents....and basic respect is gone.
Good parenting is a tough job...and kids are having kids and even having contests as to who can get pregnant first.
Much boils down to home life. If you have parents on drugs....their kids are going to be on drugs....if you have parents that don't show that they care....their kids are not going to care and do what they please and get in trouble.
Kids are a product of their parents too....and they will act out by example.
We need to get rid of all that "political correctness" crap....put our foot down when we need to with the kids....show them that we care.....ask questions of them....know what they are doing all the time....who their friends are and when needed...show tough love. Stick to decisions and be the way parents are suppose be. Be a parent first.....then a friend.
It will get worse before it gets better because today's teens just don't know parenting skills and will be the type of parents they had when they were young. It's a cycle.
I am not saying however that all parents are bad because their kids go wrong. Some have been great parents...and they can do so much. After 18 the parents can only hope that their kids will follow the respect and morals taught at home.

Personally I doubt very much that people here in the US care what other countries do or how they live....they care about the US and what we need to do here.
And if anyone is thinking that the US is going to follow suit from another country with laws and regualtions regarding firewarms...it just won't happen.
So being uptight about the laws and regulations and the Constitution is a personal problem.....then why stay here if it's so bad and bothersome?

DT13 I aggree with your post.
Gang related shootings are usually one gang member shooting another gang member. Maybe some day they'll clean themselves out. Bad thing is though that innocent bystanders are getting shot too....many are children.
It is more than parenting as you say. But I think that juvenile crime would be a lot less if parents take a disciplinary stand with their kids at an early age and remain consistent.
