David E. Jackson, Age 60, of Troy died Friday, January 23, 2009 in Troy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Dr. Malone Chandler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Riverview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy , Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 5-7 p.m.
Survivors include: Wife, Sharon R. Jackson of Troy, 2 Sons, David E. Jackson II (Anja Ecks) of Singapore, Daniel E. Jackson of Troy, Parents, Susan and Jack Jones of Banks, Sisters, Jacqueline Jones Mitchell of Troy, Angela Jones (Jeffery) Dykes of Louisville, Brother, John Rhett Jones of Banks, Mother –in-law, Nickie Smothers of Brundidge, Father-in-law, Wayne Smothers of Troy, Several Nieces and Nephews, Preceded in death by a sister, Mary Marlene Jones and a Brother, Timothy Keith Jones. Serving as pallbearers will be, Edward Robinson, Stephen Smothers, John Smothers, Gary Pruitt, Jud Compton, and Jeffrey Dykes.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer society.

OUr prayers go out to the family of David's. He loved them dearly and they will miss him alot as will I. Most people gave up on David(in this town) and we had many of talks how people do others until a time like this. I feel a lot of people will be there to show their last respects to David but where were you when he needed you. God never gave up on him and I feel he's with Him today. We'll miss you David and will join you later

Sharon and family,
I was deeply saddened to read about the passing of David. Sharon, I remember him well from when he worked at Ken Cox Ford. It was always a joy to talk with him, as it was with you when I worked at TSU in the Counseling & Adaptive Needs Office. You are a strong person and with God's help, you will be blessed!! Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, Daniel, and your family during this most difficult time. May God Bless You ALWAYS!!

Sharon and boys:
I am sorry to hear of David's passing. He was a decent man and honored you in his life. I haven't seen him in over 20 years, but have tried to keep up with you and the boys.
Missed working with you and Hilda at TSU and keeping up with your family. We had some good times and you taught me a lot and helped me with my boys often.May God be your strength now and forever.
