Bonds revoked for two suspects

Thomas, Turner to be held in county jail until hearing set

Published Friday, October 30, 2009

Bonds for two charged with rape, kidnapping and robbery at a Troy home have been revoked.

Ronald Demarkus Thomas, 25, and Anthony Perrie Turner, 22, are now being held in the Pike County Jail with no chance of getting out, at least until a parole or probation hearing date is set, said Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough.

Thomas, arrested Monday night, and Turner, arrested Wednesday afternoon, face multiple felony charges of rape, kidnapping, robbery, burglary, theft and sodomy, after they allegedly broke into a trailer on Swindall Road and committed the above crimes.

Kendrick Katrell Thomas, 23, is also charged with these crimes and is in the Pike County Jail.

Both Ronald Thomas and Turner had prior felony convictions in Barbour County and were both out on parole or probation from those sentences.

Thomas was convicted of two counts of robbery first degree in March 2004. Turner was charged with robbery first degree, discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and burglary third degree in August 2004.

Both were sentenced to 20 year-split sentences and were out on probation or parole at the time they are alleged to have committed the crimes on Swindall Road. Barbour County has revoked their bond, at least until a court hearing, for which a date has not been set at this time.

Kendrick Thomas remains in jail on a bond of $800,000.

The three suspects were alleged to have broken into a trailer, where six adults resided, four Hispanic males, one Hispanic female and one white female.

The suspects were armed during the occurrence early Monday morning. Collectively, they all have 48 charges.

In common, they each face six charges of robbery first degree, six charges of kidnapping first degree, one count of burglary first degree and one count of theft first degree.

In addition, Kendrick Thomas is charged with one count of rape first degree; Ronald Thomas with rape and sodomy first degree; and Turner with two counts of rape first degree and one count of sodomy first degree.

Scarbrough said the Troy Police Department continues to investigate this incident.

Twenty year split sentence, convicted in 2004. Both were in for robbery. Why were they out in the first place??? Judge will blame the Prison System. Prison System blame's th Federal Court. Federal Court blames underfunded State Prison System. State Prison System blames Governor. Governor blames out of date tax laws... Conclusion....Raise Taxes....or Shoot Them Upon Conviction.......Let those six victims vote on it.

In the old days, a vigilante posse would take care of these scum of the earth.

I 100% agree oldhog.

Ditto to thor.

Sometimes it seems that the old ways though unconventional and somewhat illegal....were justice personified.

When questioned on the vigilantism...."how did this happen???"...the response was merely.....

"Gee....I duuno....he musta tripped!"

Case closed!

for oliverfortune....

After living in California for 18 years.......I can tell you that out there they would probably be put up in one of the Bonaventure Hotels because Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein would feel that Alcatraz would be too "inhumane" for them even if the place was still functioning as a prison.

Drop them off in the water midway to the island from San Francisco. Those shark infested waters will take care of them!

You guys are more humane than I could be... I say hang them upside down in public and starting with the six victims lets all pour boiling water on them and let them feel some of what they put those poor people though...Let them feel helpless while they are tortured...If thats sounds bad to some sorry my heart aches for the victimes of this crime..

The people that commit the crimes have more rights it seems than the victims themselves.

If found guilty they will go to prison...do their time.....get out and commit further crimes. Hopefully sentencing will be so that they have no chance for parole taking into consideration past violations.

The victims have a lifetime sentence along with family members. This has changed all their lives.....and will for the rest of their lives.

I hope they can someday be healed.

troyman - The victims did not know the monsters.

Thanks trojan4ever and WDM. We can expect both as much justice as our system allows and also an example to be set from the sentencing of the guilty "people." It is hard to imagine these monsters were walking around in our midst.

I thought the same thing troyman.

"Walking around in our midst." Scary thought.
